Gee Collingwood are such a power, the popularity of the club continues to grow and they are simply the Manchester utd of AFL football.

but don't Manchester Utd win premierships/titles [not sure what they call them in soccer ] ?

Good to see our membership tally wasn't too far off the AFL's tally (I think the discrepancy was 3000 last year)

39,000 is a great effort considering where we were a few years back. Hopefully crack the 40k next year!

Looking at the % changes ( I'd put it up if BF could handle tables...).

Collingwood and St Kilda..awesome..over 20% growth.
WB very good ( 13.7% )
Geelong 8.5%...Coming off a flag, I dare say after a long run at the top, the bandwagon is getting full.

Sydney and Brisbane are also impressive for teams that aren't in the flag mix ( 9.1 & 7.7% )

Towards the other end...
Essendon has flatlined. ( 0.4% change )
North, Port & Carlton all down by over 4.5%
Richmond (-2.7%) & Adelaide (-2% ) also poor.

I'd also call Freo (1.65%) a bit disappointing considering their early season form. ( I assume ground capacity limits are similar to WCE, so they have ~4000 spots free there ).

amazing. when hawthorn hit 50k, everyone was trolling saying how the 4 game tassie memberships make it mean nothing.


collingwood has 3 game VICTORIAN memberships, and marketed a special "anzac day" one to cash in. where is the out-cry here?


I would love a proper breakdown. I would expect collingwoods membership would drop over 10k (or to about where they were last yr)

The increase is likely due to the increase in Skilled Stadium's capacity this year (about 3,000 extra seats for members).

That'd fit ( the change is 3166 ).

It's good for everyone if all clubs have plenty of members. We all like packed-out matches with lots of atmosphere.
