Ugh. I meant #5, don't know what the frack happened to my brain. The two that stand out are

• John Rantall
• Ryan O'Keefe

At this point O'Keefe is ahead because he's won a premiership and from his consistency.

Rantall is ahead of O’Keefe and Heeney. It’s not even close at this stage

I never saw Rantall play - why do you class him better than Pebbles who won 2 premierships, a Norm Smith medal & was AA? Because I'm still leaning towards O'Keefe.

He was our games record holder for nearly 30 years until Micky O broke it. Played State football for Victoria. Was acting captain when Skilton missed the 1969 season due to injury before taking over when he retired, is a member of both the Australian Football Hall of Fame, Swans Hall of Fame and Team of the Century. One of the finest defenders of his era when the Swans were generally a poor side. Went to North won his Premiership and returned as he promised.

Plenty of us saw it coming too. Many of us were arguing for years that Hewett should be played as a proper inside mid and he was being wasted in the role Longmire had him playing in.

Not saying because it was hewett himself ( player of ours ) but to pretty much say see ya later is odd and considering our contested ball was not up to scratch last year but magically thought it was gonna change this year.

Losing Mitchell and Hewett is a sign that our talent identification for inside mids is not great. To not see a players talent in the draft is understandable. It isn't understandable to not see the talent in a player in your own team.

We had money for Dawson and was a massive offer we put to him

We didn’t rate him highly enough like Mitchell

We could have kept both of wanted to but low balled Mitchell and obviously playing hewett of hb we thought our mid group was good enough going forward

Not writing us off, but it would be hard to disagree with the statement that we would be a better team right now if Hewett was here and playing as an inside mid.

it's hypothetical ... we might be a better team with (insert name of any player from another team) ... because that's all hewett is now ... it's like last season, so many of the same posters whinged about losing aliir ... it's a friggin annoying, petty waste of time ...
i'm enjoying watching this swans team, i don't miss hewett, i wish him well and he's going well at carlton
but i do not agree he would make this team better in the long term

Aliir is a different situation because in losing Aliir we gained Hickey. Hewett though, we lost him for nothing so there is no "well if we still had Hewett we would not have XXXX player"

Well it isn't hard. See how Hewett is playing at Carlton and imagine he is playing for us with a similar output, especially since he plays in a position which is a weakness for us right now.
