Has the sooky piece of shit Meeseeks addressed my post around what development pathways he suggests would be available to junior footballers in the northern states if they got rid of the academies yet?

Gutless wonder won't address it because he knows the league has no option other than to keep the academies as the AFL are not doing their job in creating viable pathways themselves.
I stopped reading pretty early on. It was pretty clear there were two lines of thought, and neither side was going to change their mind. So figured I'd just come back to the swans board where people are reasonable (or at the very least are more likely to share my views).

Michael Dickson made 1st team All-Pro
Dickson makes over 3X Buddy's pay for probably an hour or two of on the clock game time each season where he's rarely touched by the opposition. I'm sure it helps with the disappointment of not being picked up in the AFL draft.:)

"Michael Dickson signed a 4 year, $14,700,000 contract with the Seattle Seahawks, including a $6,500,000 signing bonus, $7,500,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $3,675,000. In 2022, Dickson will earn a base salary of $3,083,059, while carrying a cap hit of $4,383,059 and a dead cap value of $6,200,000."

Quick quiz. Name the player taking a speccie. Hint: they all became either a famous player or coach for the Swans

Since we are on quiz night.

Plugger won the Brownlow in 1987 (sharing it with John Platten).

Who were the Swans players who won the award in 1986 & 1988?

And who is the other Brownlow medallist in the Lockett photo above?

1986 Greg Williams, 1988 Gerard Healy. Brad Hardie

Oops I just realised it can't be Brad Hardie in the long sleeves. Plugger didn't start wearing #4 until 1988, by which time Hardie had joined the Brisbane Bears.

Carry on as you were.

Plugger, roos, horse.

I assume that was plugger in his first year.
🥳 No more entries please, we have a winner.

GTS, you win a framed photo of Leo Barry taking a piss in the middle of the SCG*.

*I'm pretty sure that's what I saw through my binoculars, just before the players separated before the bounce. While a bunch of Swans still surrounded him he half squatted down and snuck the snake out of the side of his shorts to take a piss. I thought "how gross", then I spent the game waiting for someone to slip over in the wet patch. I must say the SCG drains well.

ps. I don't actually have a photo of the incident, but I could probably knock up a deep fake

Remember when Jude Bolton was on home and away

And they tried to pretend the character won the 1989 best and fairest
I was like piss off Mark Bayes won

i was going to also reply with Williams, Healy and Brad Hardie (who played against Plugger in '86) but when I hit reply your spolier revealed itself. Nice pickup on the number 4, though. The game probably wasn't in 88 as Plugger kicked no goals in their only meeting and he would not miss from that range. Kevin Templeton is a possible answer, the 1980 Brownlow medallist played for Footscray when Plugger was a Saint but I can't find evidence that they ever played in the same game. Libba did, and he later won a Brownlow, but none of those dogs players look like Libba. I'm going to guess the game was Round 1 1990. Plugger rarely got the ride on anyone, preferring to bulldoze them, so it must have been a game where he was fresh, kicking a big bag and plucking marks left, right and centre. In that game he took 13 marks and kicked 10 goals. I think we can safely assume Plugger took those marks inside 50, since he almost never left the arc, unless he was slowing down from marking at 49m at full pace, like the mark and kick that took us into the '96 GF.

I didn't know Jude was on Home and Away, but I can't say I ever watched it. It was more popular in Melbourne as it showed people enjoying sunshine.

Mark Bayes was a great player to watch. As hard as rock yet everything he did seemed so graceful.

Does anyone remember the game years and years ago when Jude and Kirk shared helmets? I can't remember which one of them copped a bump on the head but a few quarters later the other one copped a bump as well, and one of them gave his bloody helmet to the other one, who wore it for a quarter or so?

Aside from the logistics of it - how could there only be one helmet readily available?! - and the fact it's such a quintessentially Jude-and-Kirk thing to happen, I can't help but think how hilarious it is they got away with it in the age of the blood rule!

Does anyone have a contact within the club? I may have just applied for a job with the membership team.

Yep my mate John does some sort of coaching there

Why isn’t there a thread for the lions

Takes days to come

Why can’t we have a changes thread or something in the meantime straight after the game

Bonz is working on it now.

Did we spoil you lot last year by having the threads up immediately after the game? Bonz is doing me a favour as I was originally down for the this preview - so he's doing it without too much lead time at all.

Even just a changes/discussion thread until the proper is up

Is 24 hours really all that hard to wait? Really?
Are you kidding Punts?

You are aware we are all volunteers that run this site out of love? We also have lives & families & a million other reasons why we aren't online 2 minutes after our game to post next weeks preview thread.

If you want a preview thread & there isn't one then create one. It's really easy. There's a button at the top of the board called "post thread"... Go for it mate!

I mean... I'll probably delete it or merge it with the "official" one which might get posted 3 or 5 days later...
