I'll give you 2023. But the other 2 were smashings and everyone got goals in them. You'd have to go back to Rioli 2015 to find a quality small forward performance
Fritsch had 4 of his 6 goals by the time the Dees hit the front in Q3 2021.

So that's 2 out the last 3 where small/medium types were important for the winning team (and last year for the losing team to be so close).

And 2 of the last what, 9 if you go back further? Then 3 of the last 15 maybe?

Either way, Rayner/na/nor/nahnah won't be a deciding factor. He is icing

Was a discussion in one of the threads about how the club is moving towards a business rather than a club with the fans at the heart of what they do. Was just having a look at the membership post the club put up a couple of weeks ago.

Features of the 2025 membership seem to be:
  • an integrated mens and women's membership. (Price increased to reflect this)
  • non-optional $30 swanshop voucher
  • Unless I am reading it incorrectly, removal of the cap, keyring and sticker (although swans squad junior members do appear like they will receive a cap as part of their membership.)

When is the Bib Skilton Medal?
This Thursday or Friday for memory. Still tickets at $350+. Promos said all the players will be there. Physically of course, probably not mentally or with any sense of soul or spirit. It's the way they like to do things at this time of year.

I heard next years membership comes with a spew bucket in case we make the grand final

Thought I'd revisit this in the wake of the post-bye period and two losses.

Still going on the same criteria.

1. Heeney (-)
2. Gulden (+2)
3. Rowbottom (-)
4. Grundy (+1)
5. Warner (-3)
6. Blakey (-)
7. McInerney (+5)
8. Cunningham (-)
9. Lloyd (+6)
10. Papley (-1)
11. Jordon (-)
12. Florent (-5)
13. Melican (-4)
14. Rampe (-1)
15. Hayward (-1)
16. Adams (+4)
17. McLean (-1)
18. McCartin (-8)
19. Amartey (+3)
20. McDonald (-3)
21. Wicks (-)
22. Roberts (-4)
23. Campbell
24. Fox (-1)

To me that top 6 are locked in. They are our clear best six players and the order could easily change with all of them. Heeney & Gulden just come out on top for me because they really are perfect balances of elite talent and incredible hard work.

Defenders have dropped, forwards still aren't rising. Probably the tale of the season at present.

Just my opinion anyway. Not worth anything.
Well thought I'd finish this for the year and see where everyone ended up.

It was really hard to judge the seasons of guys like Adams (best 22 for nearly all year then not even an emergency by year's end) and McInerney (a top 6/7 player for most of the season but then almost no impact due to injury in the latter half.)

Individual expectations is also a factor. ie. Cleary played less good footy than Campbell and Fox this year, but I had his year as more of a success than theirs because he showed there's something to work with, which is all he really needed to do as a first year player, whereas Campbell and Fox probably needed to lock down a spot more.

Broadly aligned with your views caesar88 - except on Hayward, who I think was our best performing forward by a loooooong way & should feature in the top 10.

Too harsh on Hayward and no idea why you have our club captain last on the list. Otherwise very good.
