Saints defence was shored up under Enright 2022 pre Ross.

It's just laziness. It's the go-to phrase for people that don't watch football games, but want to appear as if they have some higher knowledge than the average football fan. Media is guilty of it, too. But I mostly see it on here and other social media places, the boring tepid "ross defense" line.
It's just a signal that their opinion can be safely ignored.

A big change and a good one, although can make supporters angry and sad is our new found ruthlessness.
In the past we would have let Seb and Members hang around for a couple more years and there is pretty low tolerance now to have blokes playing three games in two years due to constant injury niggles.
We looked to offload a decent player in Battle to bring in good youth.
Our eye is firmly in the future rather than hanging on to possibles just in case they break out.
No one is safe and they would know it so they will be working their arses out and if they don’t we’ll see ya mate thanks for your input.
I like it, create a hard arse club and a winning attitude.

If the reports are correct, we came in late with an offer that was bigger than the offer Battle eventually accepted from Hawthorn that yielded us band 1

Well whatever way it went down it would be interesting to know. I don’t think we were too disappointed with the way it went down. In fact I reckon it was a master stroke.

Time will tell. Batts is a very good player but p8 was an absolute steal. In the relevant time frame l think he can be replaced but then there's Wilkie and Doogs will be retired within 5 years so there's still work to be done.Barrat looks the goods and we'll see how Ari goes next year.
I reckon they'll switch tact to trading for the next bunch of years but the reality is we need to start contending to attract the good players. FWIW, l reckon Bing will be playing CHB for us once he hits RFA. That'll take care of one big piece.

Yep bing contracted for two more years then a free agent. Would be very handy for us at CHB
