Not sure they were actually new tbf lol Also I don't appreciate people mocking me.
I am new here.
I also don’t recall ever mocking you. You do so much for this board, I don’t know what we would do without your training reports. I have great respect for your hard work. You know the old saying, don’t bite the hand that feeds you.

Cheers

I reckon two consecutive years of All-Australian blazers speaks more to Houston's fitness than his physique to be honest.

In the end, you can be ridiculously aerobically fit without being ripped

You can also be ripped without being aerobically fit

I am a passionate supporter just like you.

I am nowhere near as fit as Dan and I’m not suggesting that he isn’t fit or in great overall shape.

But we have seen physique changes in players like Reef, Macrae, Parker, Ryan, etc and countless players before and this generally amounts to improvements in their capabilities.

It just makes me wonder about Port’s training standards compared to our own (I rate us as quite a fit and well-trained team under Wade) or whether Dan can take his game to another level under our training. That’s all.
💯
There was a photo of him and about 3 of our other guys.
He’s abs were absolutely dad bod compared to how cut the others were.

Someone might have time to find the pic.

Now don’t jump on me, because this is just an observation and I’m as excited to see him play as anyone…

But does anyone think that Houston looks a little less fit/lean than lots of our other players?

For a guy who is an AA and been in the system for a long time, I am surprised to see him seemingly at a higher BF% than many of our younger (and older) guys.

This isn’t a criticism. Just an observation. Perhaps our training standards can even lift him up another level by the end of pre-season?
Spec Savers. I think they could help you

One more session on Friday and then everyone back on deck on Monday.

There was a fair bit of conditioning happening this morning. First, early on, they started the session with some agility then some running about 20-30 metres from one end to another. Then later on in the session where most of them participated in two different sets of the shuttle run for 15 mins, from one set of cones to another. With 30 seconds break, until the last few mins where it was non stop.
No surprise that the endurance runners did exceptionally well in this -- Lippa, IQ, Ryan, Long, Allan. Reef did quite well.
Bobby and WHE struggled (not sure first time WHE seems to struggle with these shuttle runs, last pre-season too.. Not the sort of thing I assumed he would struggle with, given he covers a lot of ground)

Today's session also saw then do a few drills, including a pressure drill which was on my side of the ground, which was nice. Beau giving the do not argue was fun, and players struggle to take down Long.

After this they were another drill near the goals by the road where it appeared to focused on stoppages and running in numbers around a contest. Lippa did well here. He seemed to be really fit, and added a bit of pace. Whatever him and IQ did in the US clelarly is showing on the track.
IQ seemed to be a bit more trimmed. He is running really well, quicker, like with freedom that it didnt feel he had last season. He seems quicker and able to use his athleticsm.

Perryman seemed to train a bit more in defence today. I think we'll see him split some time between lines. Oscar and Smit split their training between forward and ruck, which I imagine we'll see them work together in games like this.

Oh and Harvey Harrison did his very first running session coming off his ACL.
Wade was back this morning, he went over to the rehab staff in change of HH's recovery, advising them from what it appeared, on things to do better with him.
I can imagine him saying -- Alright boys, I'm back, I'm taking over lol

I hope he works closely with Josh Daicos and Sidey too - I think he'd be suited to a wing and think it's the most open spot in our team at the moment.

Yep that’s a good point.

I think Parker and Ryan training both wing and back flank through preseason would be smart for both of them.
