i'm interested in the above statement.

TDK, the kid their only key back or are you talking about Stewart ?

Maybe Blicavs plays on Joe, allows TDK to play on Hippy, One of Henry or Koli to play on Mcstay, Bews goes to Charlie and their best Player ( Stewart ) just zones off all night helping whoever needs it ?

Lions are in this up to their eye balls !

TDK. Blicavs hasn't been playing down back but would be a better option

We are out to $3.75 in the market now. There’s no untoward surprises at selection tonight Mighty Lions is there? 🤔🤔
Cam Rayner said on the Roar Deal that they used the fact that pundits were writing them off as a chance of winning against the Tigers and Demons as a bit of a motivating factor, let it continue.

There’s not really any “easy” matchups for Stewart to zone off and help out. Whoever he goes to needs to make him accountable, I don’t particularly rate his ability as a defender and think he can get found out if they don’t get their matchups right.

If I’m being honest I haven’t watched much Geelong this season but other than TDK I think our forwards will have a field day, their mids aren’t as threatening as previous seasons either.

If we can at least break even in the middle and continue to take the game on by foot (as Kiddy eluded to earlier in the week) then our forwards should be able to overwhelm their defence and get us home tomorrow night.

Always saw Melbourne as our biggest challenge this series and after that game I believe we should be able to beat the teams remaining more often than not.

I agree let it continue but will admit I’m pretty surprised about how most in the media have completely written us off.

He was one of the top forwards in the competition this year prior to his injury. From watching him live throughout the remainder of the season it is clear that the shoulders are really bad.

I don’t think it’s the best season to fully judge joes ability or output. Needs to get the body right over the off-season.

Was averaging 3 goals a game basically prior to the Sydney game where he got injured, and without ever kicking anything more than 4 in one game.

Sorry, I wish I could join in this conversation but If I do it gets censored.

Apparently, I'm being "irrational" and "negative". I thought this was a forum.

So that's it for me.

Thanks guys, I really enjoyed your views and camaraderie.
Don't get worried, just remember while everyone on here was speculating a month or so back about Lachie Neale going home at the end of his contract and what we could or should get he sigs an extension to stay - no one saw that coming so there are no insiders, know more than others or anything like that here. We do however have some draft and trading experts which I love. People get passionate, that's what footy is about but your right in that there shouldn't be name calling. Personally I don't read the game day threads after the game starts and very little of the reviews as people do Go OFF the most there in the excitement/disappointment. Sorry to see you go if you do, I've done it before but remember the Off Season starts in 2 weeks and it seems a bloody long time for a footy fix and most times, for a few months a year, this is the only place you will get it. Cheers.

Robinson does not offer more than Matho unfortunately. The romantic sentiment is there, but we have to consider what each player is able to bring.

Robinson can play wing, inside mid and forward. I think he'd be a more versatile choice. Matho makes sense from a midfielder perspective though.

Nerves started kicking in about 12pm today.

Been 19 years since us members (and supporters..) down here saw our boys play in a prelim at the G. Should have been at the GABBA, mind you.

Acknowledge there are teams whose members (and supporters) have been waiting longer (in the case of Gold Coast, never), but I couldn’t give a shit about them.

After Daniher was a late out we were close enough/better than $4 some places to beat Melbourne. We’re a similar price tomorrow against Geelong (who play the odd game at the G, and who played North and WC twice), with Daniher back (who I’m certain had other things on his mind in the weeks leading up). And Oscar in /Fullarton out.

Let’s hope the boys get cracking early and put Geelong on the back foot; and the 21 day break is a hindrance for them.

🦁

last year in both games we did a pretty good job playing around stewart, which is the key to cracking geelong's defence

he was absent from our game earlier in the year at goomba though
Was one of the games they sent Stewart to Charlie? Pretty sure that was a complete mismatch and Stewart's worst game in about 2-3 years. He is best when gets a bit of freedom to do what he wants. Bit like with Lever last week, whoever gets Stewart just needs to keep him accountable and not let him play his own game all night
