Glen Eira/Old McKinnon are also increasing their profile of players from Wagga Wagga with three new signings. Rhett Weidermann and Darcy Irvine from Turvey Park's premiership team and Sam Foley from runners up the Griffith Swans. These boys come down and join the Carey bros, Ben Gillett, Lachlan Myers (last years' B and F), Bill Alexnader and Connor Huthwaite.
Two growth areas for Glen Eira Old Mckinnon are the progressive improvement of the old boys from Mckinnon SC as indicated by the two under 19 teams, in the very competitive Bentleigh/Carnegie area and the association with Wagga Wagga. Hopefully that holds the Club in good stead in Prem C this year.

Have you changed names . I see new old mate got the Kyber pass
GlenEira Old McKinnon AFC. New name as per VAFA request. Actually it will cement the relationship with the school and hopefully give us a flow through.The connection with Wagga has also been a winner too. With a bit of luck we will be competitive in the Premier league.

Monash got the arse in the original merger. Not least because the uni hadn't contributed anything in years.
Don't worry- we are open to becoming the old mckinnon glenormond gryphons when the time comes.

Aren't you forgetting Murrumbeena and Oakleigh.
Smart move by GE. Whatever they are doing seems to be working and local kids are choosing GE over other local clubs. Not suggesting McKinnon Sec is a school football powerhouse but as a means of a providing a constant supply into their club it makes good sense. Nothing is guaranteed and if they drop the ball then the players will vote with their feet. But if they keep running a good show (and clearly they are) then this will help keep them viable. Hats off I say.

Stealing the name McKinnon to align with the school is fairyland stuff ??? The original Mckinnon were in the Federal League and then they aligned with Moorabbin when they folded..GlenEira just seem to be clutching big time !!!!!!
Because the GE under 19 team was called Old McKinnon a VAFA club complained to the ammos. GE were not allowed to have two names thus the new name. Facts are important.

Jimmy is fine and gives a balanced view from the Combine , as for GI and the grumpy Phantom they just won't let go of each other . Correct and two girls , son couldn’t believe the stuff that went on , as for the coach,if you’re not in the top team he wouldn’t give a stuff .
