I'm heading down there on Saturday morning, going to the game with my Uncle and then staying the night. Flying back Sunday evening.
If we get smashed I'll be smashing the Tassie Pinot in consolation.
If we get the win, I'll be smashing the Tassie Pinot in celebration.
Hyeppy Days........

At first I thought Waite in for Simpkin, but I have re considered. Preuss in for Simpkin is the better option. Double team Jacobs. Give us the best chance for first use. Waite to play for Werribee.

Hard tag on Sloane. Gibbo? Seems that is a good option. Maybe Luke who I seem to recall has done the job before.

Taz on tex surely. Thompson on Jenkins. Personally I'd be happy to leave Hansen out this week and for Durdin to come in to play on Jenkins, leaving Thompson as a loose.

So Preuss for Simpkin is the only change.

Pretty stoked we picked Liam Anthony over Rory Sloane all those years back.

Laidley, the gift that keeps giving.

Riley Knight is on track to return to face North Melbourne this Saturday

PREMIERSHIP favourite Adelaide is hoping to regain midfielder Riley Knight for Saturday's clash with North Melbourne at Blundstone Arena. Knight missed Sunday's 76-point thumping of Richmond at Adelaide Oval with a hamstring injury.

But Crows ruckman Sam Jacobs said Knight was on track to miss only one game after pulling up sore after the side's round five win over Gold Coast. "As far as I know, he should be all right," Jacobs said.

"I'm not too sure about the extent of his injury, but Riley has spent a bit of time in rehab in the past and he's got a really good feel for his body. "I think he made a smart decision against the Gold Coast to make sure he looked after it. "Hopefully he's back in calculations because he's a guy who can hopefully get a bit of continuity going because he's been fantastic in the team and he brings us a lot."

If Knight is available, it's going to be a tough decision to see who drops out of a Crows team that is flying with six straight wins to start the season. The Crows are refusing to get ahead of themselves after experiencing the pain of several finals exits in the past few years.

"We've got a really hungry playing group at the moment," Jacobs said. "We're really driven with where we want to get to. "We are pretty mature in that sense in that we understand where the season is at. "It's just another step to where we want to go and we're looking to improve every week."

While the high-octane forward line of the Crows has grabbed the majority of the headlines for their outstanding start to the season, Jacobs has played a crucial role in getting the midfield first use of the ball.

Not only did he dominate his personal duel with Tigers big man Toby Nankervis, finishing the game with 50 hit-outs, Jacobs did plenty of work around the ground. He racked up a career-high 26 possessions, nine marks and eight inside 50s, and was the link player through the midfield.

"Over time, I've let the midfielders know they can trust me with the ball in my hands," Jacobs said. "I guess it's a thing with ruckmen, generally you don't want them to kick, but it's an area I've worked really hard at. "The guys across half-back really set us up with (Brodie) Smith, (Rory) Laird and (Luke) Brown and it was great to get my hands on the ball."

Crows won't get complacent from the peak: Pyke
Lee Gaskin April 30, 2017 9:43 PM

ADELAIDE is 6-0, on top of the ladder, has a percentage of 160.9 and is crushing everything in its path.

But Crows coach Don Pyke knows his in-form side can't afford to get complacent if it's to win the club's first premiership in 20 years.

"I've been around long enough to know no-one is unbeatable," Pyke said after the Crows' 76-point thumping of Richmond at Adelaide Oval on Sunday. "To play that way is exciting. "I sit back in the box at times and marvel at some of the ball movement we were able to execute. "We've got work to do, but when we play that way, we're very hard to play against."

"You need your leaders to stand up and lead. Tex did and Rory Sloane did as well. "But it wasn't just about the leaders, it was about the whole group. "Whether it was each individual line or players within those lines, they had a bit of resolve about them and changed the flow of the game."

Ruckman Sam Jacobs dominated his duel with Toby Nankervis, having 50 hit-outs to go with 26 possessions.

"He was very good against Hawthorn in round two and he was very good again tonight," Pyke said. "He generated a fair bit of ball for us and his ruck work was of a high standard and his follow up was great. "He started linking up through the midfield. "He has that capacity and he kicks the ball well and he found himself in space and we were able to use him through the midfield."

Sloane left the ground late with a cork to his leg, but Pyke said he was in no doubt for Saturday's game with North Melbourne in Hobart. "He'll be fine," Pyke said. "We rested him as a precaution near the end there."

North Melbourne will be without Aaron Mullett for the upcoming game at Blundstone Arena against the Crows, after he fractured a bone in his hand during the second quarter on Saturday night.

Playing the Gold Coast, the defender injured the 4th metacarpal in his right hand while spoiling Sun Tom Lynch.

“Aaron met with a specialist this morning and will have surgery to insert a small plate in his hand later this afternoon,” North doctor Peter Baquie told NMFC.com.au.

“After the procedure, it will simply be a matter of allowing the wound enough time to heal before he can return. We anticipate that will only be one to two weeks at the most.”

Mullett has enjoyed a solid start to the season averaging a career-high 22 disposals and is ranked third in the AFL for rebound 50s per game.

mullet out means no matter what, swallow will come in - even though one is a rebounding defender and the other is a slow inside mid. A logical replacement would be mountford to tag sloane and push Lmac, Jmac or atley back into defense.

logical:
In: mountford, waite
Out: mullet, simpkin (no one else to pick for waite)

Brad's:
In: swallow, waite
Out: mullet, simpkin

In: Hibberd
Out: Mullett (inj)

Straight swap all other players stick to current structure.
I'd be gobsmacked if Hibberd plays based upon his game on the weekend.

What is Hibberd's deal? If he isn't a defender and is suppose to be a new generation mid, I see him being a link up playing running up the wing/through the corridor. But right now it would be Clarke pushing a case in front of him.

IMO the more logical in's would be Pruess and Swallow over Clarke or Mountford, bringing Waite in would be a serious mistake I've noticed that he takes a game or two to reach peak when returning from injury so he would be far better off coming through the 2's. Swallow's best attribute is his in and under work in the centre, he is cherry ripe and will be stinging from being dropped, given the Crows midfield Spitta's work might actually make a difference to the outcome. Clark and Mountford yes but not this game.

i concede swallow has played some super games against adelaide and should be fired up.

re: waite, i'm just concerned about talia on brown, will make brown him virtually useless/liability. if waite's not there to take up talia then we may as well drop brown and bring in smalls.

Based on what?
scott will use any excuse to bring swallow back.
