Same article reports Woodrow Medallist Jake Williams from De La possibly heading to Collingwood VFL. On the flipside another Woodrow winner Matt Fieldsend is returning after 4 years in the VFL along with multiple club B&F winner Sam Williams. As posted here earlier Pickett and Vickers heading bush for $. A few other unsubstantiated ins and outs at the Bell but to early to confirm either way.

A couple of rumored departures from Beauy – Boyd the young FF heading interstate and 1 or both Buckley’s maybe on the move with Tom possibly returning to his original club now in ‘C’ grade. Rob Cathcart returning which is a big in for them.

McBain a good in for the Sharks. Heard Raph Clarke was playing in the Geelong league but if not that is real coup for the VAFA. Expect he would be a real handful. Yep McMahon back at De La. Was having a great season and sorely missed when not available.

I heard Pat Nicholls was heading to one of the Uni Clubs, just not sure if it was blues or blacks? Or maybe the blues have counted their chickens before they've hatched, ala Lindsey Gilbee.

I'm not really in the inner sanctum but had beern told he was some chance due to a good relationship with new coach. Now it looks like he is heading to the WAFL.

I think that article is about James Sellar, not James Magner.

I think that article is about James Sellar, not James Magner.

Sorry my mistake. I misread the post from GY. Thought he was referring to the other delisted demon called James.

James Seller was apparently some outside chance to come to De La and may have even trained with them once or twice this pre-season. There was never any talk of James Magner.

Yep, Jamieson and Jordan Clarke (U/19 i believe) both from Scotch and signed with the Western Bulldogs VFL side.

Yes, the new world in the expanding VFL..................clubs like Xavs impacted for a while, Scotch's turn now with 4-5 going VFL and 8-10 from school either AFL or VFL listed.

Not sure how other clubs are going but the money in some metro/country clubs getting out of hand.

He was good value to the Scotchies last year. A real class act and will be a big loss, particularly with a couple of others moving to VFL ranks. The cleaners are really being put through a few ‘A’ grade clubs this off-season. My mob have lost several of their better performers to cashed up county clubs in particular. Some of the money on offer is absurd. For ammo clubs it is hard to compete with and for the clubs throwing it around it is surely unsustainable.

His 3rd VAFA club in 4 years and shops himself around every off-season. Can play but clearly not the greatest of clubmen. Don’t expect him to hang around if you get related as he departed OM’s and UB’s as soon as they dropped from A to B.
