Winners will be : OS V Blues. OS because at home and a MUST for them......lose? B Grade could be begging..

OC V Coll : OC in a cliff hanger...

OT V Beauy : OT to win. To quick and skilled

Blacks V Bernies: Blacks at home.

De La V Xavs : De La arent without hope. Last gasp, lose means B Grade. De La to win.

Say if you guys on BF are on the VAFA Board of directors. Would you vote to keep the grand final at its traditional venue, or move it elsewhere. And if that is the case, which venue would you vote for to host this year's Premier Grand Final-Trevor Barker Oval, Sandringham, or Visy Park, Carlton?
You really - and I do mean, really - have an obsession about Sportscover Jase.:)

Feels like all games could go either way...I imagine some teams will look quite different to round 8 teams, mainly Scotch, Carey and Blues who all had decent outs last round. My guesses are:

Scotch
Carey
Trinity
Bernards
De La

Ladder based on players used.
In brackets how many players have played all 8 games.

1. Beauy 40 (4)
2. Uni Blues 36 (4)
3. DLS 36 (6)
4. Scotch 36 (8)
5. Xavs 35 (10)
6. Coll 34 (9)
7. St Bern 34 (10)
8. Carey 32 (12)
9. Uni Blacks 31 (11)
10. Trinity 28 (13)

What does this say? Obviously Trinity have been super settled. Obviously Iezzi is about to become a big out. Do they have the depth to cover if this settled side starts to require Ressies players?
Beauy have played 40 and only four have played all 8. Get there best side together and they should be able to push up the ladder?
Thoughts?

Any reason why De La are playing Xavs twice before they play Beaumaris?

Agreed. Beauies best 22 is clearly very competitive. Otherwise, this excellent insight tells me a settled, healthy list is vital. Equally, injuries matter and do have an impact. But - at the end of the day all teams just have to deal with those injuries!

Correct!!!. If there is no admission, no one will ever know.or find out The last people who want to know is the VAFA. Their Integrity
Officer is a joke!!!!!
Correct - I know for a fact they were sent a letter last season prior to finals detailing a club, names and payments. The letter was anonymously sent by an associate of the club who was extremely disappointed with the scenario.

Guess what happened? Nothing.

Not an A grade club BTW - the other end.

Short of an admission or other hard evidence anonymous letters don’t really constitute proof. If this person had been prepared to make a signed statement attesting to the facts it might have carried some more weight.

Having said that there does seem to be more (unsubstantiated) reports of this type of activity going on over the last 2 or 3 seasons than I can previously recall. I am aware that the VAFA did make some preliminary inquires about a particular club earlier this year but in the absence of documentary proof or anyone being prepared to testify on the record it went nowhere

Anonymous reports of themselves don't have much currency. That said, they should be taken seriously and every effort made to verify the validity of them.

If it's good enough for the ATO to follow-up anonymous tips with vigour it should also be good enough for the VAFA to do the same.

Somehow get the feeling the VAFA is happy to let sleeping dogs lie.

Luke Ball training at Xavs..............

There has been a rumour going around for a month that Luke Ball would play the Rd 9 game v De La so if correct he will be stepping out tomorrow. Whether that is in the 1s or 2s is yet to be seen. Richmond VFL bye so Nick Wynne would be a good chance to play. Also means Uni Blues may also have a few decent inclusions for their crucial game against Scotch.

Cant be sure, but I think OS will have a couple at their dosposal as well........ Be a "ripper" game....

Old Scotch v Uni Blues- A must win for both clubs. Should be a tight contest all day. Scotch to win at home by 8 points.
Old Carey v Collegians- Not sure Collegians would have welcomed the bye as they were on a roll. Carey on the other hand did, after getting thumped by 100. Doesn't help going into the 4th qtr kicking 0.13. Think Carey will bounce back at home.
Old Trinity v Beaumaris- Despite injuries to two of their best players, Trinity should be able to outrun Beauy here. Trinity by 5 goals.
Uni Blacks v St Bernards - Game of the round. Bernards have been going about their business, whilst Blacks have been on a roll just like Collegians. Bernards forwards are impressive, Bernards by 2 goals.
De La v Xavs- Xavs would have welcomed the break with a few older bodies running around. Xavs to win by 4 goals.

Footscray and Richmond have the bye in VFL so Scotch get 2 back (1 from Footscray and 1 from Richmond) as well as 2 or 3 back from injury. Blues v Scotch will be a cracker. Blacks also get Kruse (i think) from Richmond - will strengthen them greatly for game against Bernards.
