VISY PARK
You really - and I do mean, really - have an obsession about Sportscover Jase.Say if you guys on BF are on the VAFA Board of directors. Would you vote to keep the grand final at its traditional venue, or move it elsewhere. And if that is the case, which venue would you vote for to host this year's Premier Grand Final-Trevor Barker Oval, Sandringham, or Visy Park, Carlton?
Nah! It would mean going across the Yarra and I only do that for the 'G'.IKON Park as it is now called.
Least likely to be seriously wind affected.
PS: the likelihood of this happening is probably 100/1 at best.
Feels like all games could go either way...I imagine some teams will look quite different to round 8 teams, mainly Scotch, Carey and Blues who all had decent outs last round. My guesses are:Winners will be : OS V Blues. OS because at home and a MUST for them......lose? B Grade could be begging..
OC V Coll : OC in a cliff hanger...
OT V Beauy : OT to win. To quick and skilled
Blacks V Bernies: Blacks at home.
De La V Xavs : De La arent without hope. Last gasp, lose means B Grade. De La to win.

Agreed. Beauies best 22 is clearly very competitive. Otherwise, this excellent insight tells me a settled, healthy list is vital. Equally, injuries matter and do have an impact. But - at the end of the day all teams just have to deal with those injuries!Ladder based on players used.
In brackets how many players have played all 8 games.
1. Beauy 40 (4)
2. Uni Blues 36 (4)
3. DLS 36 (6)
4. Scotch 36 (8)
5. Xavs 35 (10)
6. Coll 34 (9)
7. St Bern 34 (10)
8. Carey 32 (12)
9. Uni Blacks 31 (11)
10. Trinity 28 (13)
What does this say? Obviously Trinity have been super settled. Obviously Iezzi is about to become a big out. Do they have the depth to cover if this settled side starts to require Ressies players?
Beauy have played 40 and only four have played all 8. Get there best side together and they should be able to push up the ladder?
Thoughts?
Blacks played Carey last week for the 2nd time. Beauie played Blues for the 2nd time last week as well. So at end of round 9, 6 teams have not played 1 team as yet....Any reason why De La are playing Xavs twice before they play Beaumaris?

None, its the same in D1, its not hard. 1 home , 1 away.Whats the logic behind this then????
I don't know...I had not looked at this as my club just plays all other 9 clubs by end round 9. Unusual....Whats the logic behind this then????
Correct - I know for a fact they were sent a letter last season prior to finals detailing a club, names and payments. The letter was anonymously sent by an associate of the club who was extremely disappointed with the scenario.Correct!!!. If there is no admission, no one will ever know.or find out The last people who want to know is the VAFA. Their Integrity
Officer is a joke!!!!!

Guess what happened? Nothing.

To be fair to the VAFA (in this instance), you have a very complicated draw; ground shares with school teams (Carey, Trinity) or teams in other divisions (Xavs) means that it can become a pretty awkward jigsaw puzzle.None, its the same in D1, its not hard. 1 home , 1 away.
Luke Ball training at Xavs..............
There has been a rumour going around for a month that Luke Ball would play the Rd 9 game v De La so if correct he will be stepping out tomorrow. Whether that is in the 1s or 2s is yet to be seen. Richmond VFL bye so Nick Wynne would be a good chance to play. Also means Uni Blues may also have a few decent inclusions for their crucial game against Scotch.
Footscray and Richmond have the bye in VFL so Scotch get 2 back (1 from Footscray and 1 from Richmond) as well as 2 or 3 back from injury. Blues v Scotch will be a cracker. Blacks also get Kruse (i think) from Richmond - will strengthen them greatly for game against Bernards.Cant be sure, but I think OS will have a couple at their dosposal as well........ Be a "ripper" game....
