AFLW 2024 - Round 10 - Chat, game threads, injury lists, team lineups and more.
The interesting IN for me on the weekend was Guy Dickson at Carey. Kicked 4 for the second time in only his second game. He also kicked 4 against Bernards in round 2. If he plays against Blacks next week, Carey beat Blacks. And then the following week Port Melbourne has a bye, so all of a sudden a quality VFL player may qualify for finals for Carey. Would be very significant. Not good news Bagman. For your sake i hope Jones, Bentick, Caven are not one of them.
Top 4 settled. Only issue is who plays St Bernard’s in the main semi. This will probably be answered next week when Carey and Blacks duel.
Carey seem to be getting their list back together. Jaksch back I see.
Uni are looking strong. Im sure they’d love to see Charlie Richardson, Moorfield and Ernest back to strengthen them further. Beauy’s form very good. They have shaken Caulfield and now look set to play a big part in the finals.
Hippbet has the market:
Snowdogs $1.95
Blacks $3.20
Carey $3.60
Beauy $5.10
At the bottom of the ladder things are tight. 4 teams on 12 points with the Vultures only a game above them all.
Makes all games super important. No dead rubbers on the way home.
Buckle in B Stormers!

Any reason , he is a great bloke.Phibbs won't be continuing at Mazenod next year.
Round 14 tips
Beaumaris by 20 points- Monash better of late, could be closer than we might think
Caulfield easily over AJAX - by 36 points
Parkdale to beat Hailebury by 15 points
Uni Blacks to prevail over Carey by 12 points. Will be a cracker.
Bernards to beat Mazenod by 84 points
Just thought I would have a crack at margins for a bit of fun.
I’m feeling like we may see an upset or two as things get desperate at the bottom of the ladder.
CaulfieldI agree as the relegation battles are often the hardest and most exciting. On top of which Monash do not look like they are going to throw it in. Reckon Haileybury also have some fight in them, not as sure about Mazenod and Ajax look in trouble.
Caulfield will account for a struggling Ajax
St Bernards in a walk against Mazenod
Parkdale over Haileybury in match of the day
Beaumaris to get in done after half time against Monash
Blacks only because they are at at home against Carey
Caulfield
St Bernards
Parkdale
Beaumaris
Carey
I think 4 of these are spot on. Monash to cause an upset at the Frearson and pull clear in the relegation battle.I agree as the relegation battles are often the hardest and most exciting. Who is the better Prem B team - Skobs of 2015 or Bernard’s of 2018?
Both a long way out in front of the pack.

I am a Bernards man but do not believe our 2018 team would come close to the 2015 SKOBs side. I am not convinced that 2018 B grade is very strong. And I find it interesting that the Blues team of 2014 mentioned here did not win a Prem flag. Interesting that Bernards (2015) and SKOBS (2017) both did.Who is the better Prem B team - Skobs of 2015 or Bernard’s of 2018?

I agree. I believe each of Carey, Blacks and Bernards at full strength can beat each other. All three are stronger than Beauie I believe. But I do not regard Bernards as being so far out in front of Carey or Blacks. Not so sure they are a long way out in front. Whilst I agree they are favs, we have two other teams nipping at their heels.
The side Uni roll out tomorrow, with Tom Swift added, is seriously good. If you added ‘the Bouffant’ ‘the Extractor’ and ‘Mr Silk’ id have them 50/50 playing Snowdogs in a final.
So I take SKOB. But agree Blues were better.

Old Carey 2010..... What you forgot them?
Very good question. 2010 in my opinion but ask me again after this season is over.Carey’s best team 2010 plays Carey best team 2018. Who wins?
Was just highlighting how hard it is to step from B grade to A grade and succeed. To your point - with which I agree - to progress to an A grade flag even after dominating B grade takes time and better personnel. And some sides get lucky or develop/attract talent or whatever is needed to win a flag (Bernards/SKOBS) and others just miss out (Blues). Not sure of your point with this comment as we are talking about 2018 B grade. Also what relevance is the 2015 St Bernards team? They had been back in A grade for 4 years by that stage. The SKOBs 2017 version was vastly different to the 2015 version. Blues dominated 2014 ‘B’ grade and then finished 3rd in Prem the next season while SKOBs struggled in Premier in 2016.
