R2 Tips
This round will tell us a lot about where teams are at...

Hampton Rovers v Ormond
Mazenod v Williamstown
Old Ivanhoe v AJAX
Marcellin v Old Camberwell
PEGS v Old Mentone

Same but reckon PEGS at home.

Things seem to have gone according to plan this week...

Although no tipster tipped less than 4, that was a surprising week of footy. The margins rather than the results were the real talking point. My flag fancy in Williamstown needed some luck to scrape over the line but they are still the ones to beat in 2019.

Best wishes to the OI player.

Round 2
Hampton Rovers v Ormond
Mazenod v Williamstown
Old Ivanhoe v AJAX
Marcellin v Old Camberwell
PEGS v Old Mentone

Good luck to all #ftlotg

You would hope so . Big blow to lose young Max , he got 3 down to 2 for a guilty plea, looked bad on film , he said sorry straight away and it was accepted by the Pegs player . So you punch someone in the head and you get the same . Anyhow good weather tomorrow and one again these two great suburban clubs will put on a beauty.

After two games we enter the bye with a few certainties and many question marks.

Williamstown the team to beat, look to have a few senior players missing currently. Seem to be slow starters this year with two very low half time scores.
Extremely lucky to come away with the Ivanhoe win and that may hurt Ivanhoe at the point end of the year.

Ormond are going to be on the winners list more often then not. With the brother brigade (Buckley’s, Simon’s, Hine’s) leading the charge.
Just comes down to how many games will they get them all together.
They play fast footy with a full ground press, however they’re very small down back. Will they cope with the teams with big forwards (Ivanhoe, Mentone, Willy)

Camberwell seem to have a good cohesive unit, they’ve won two close ones which will boost confidence. Although the read on Marcellin and Mazenod are they aren’t the strongest of teams.

Mentone have won two close ones too. Which they struggled to do last year losing 3 games by under a goal and another 2 by under two goals.
Still some key senior players to come back, they have a plethora of talls at each end. Depth still looks limited.

PEGS and Ivanhoe have had mixed results close games against good teams and a blowout each already.

Ajax bounced back this week.
Maybe they are better on small grounds. Another team that will struggle against taller sides as the word is they are small and young. Very young.

Hampton are a much better side then I first thought. They will make each game a scrap and run very hard from behind.

Mazenod I saw get absolutely picked apart in a practice match but have had two decent showings so far. I think they will be competitive in each game but just lack quality depth around the ground.

Marcellin lost quality players but I haven’t seen Marcellin play poorly throughout a season in my time.
How long have they been in C grade ?
From self-reports though they don’t rate themselves this year.

Round 3 will be interesting

I agree , nice to have a fair and balanced view. I picked Willy early as they need to bounce back . Camberwell are always hard to gauge , but they are consistent year after year. Hampton are not the worst side and lack of a bench in both games has hurt them , they are well coached and will upset quite a few.

Tough round to tip

Hampton to steal one
Mentone v Ormond is big
I’m going to say Mentone flex after the bye

Mazenod must register a win
Willy won’t like travelling to camberwell but will come out on top

PEGS at home to be the third side to register their first win and make it and extremely interesting season
