Reading up of one North Melbourne pre-season training session that was held on a Friday evening mid-February in 1977, where the temperature was 38 degrees celsius when they started at 6pm that night, and didn't stop until 8:30pm. Wonder what the AFLPA would've said about that i

Semi Finals will now be at the home clubs ground , so Monash v Hampton and ? v ?
Thought that the first & second semi finals would be at Sandringham, on Saturday & Sunday in 2 weeks time, with the preliminary & grand final at Sportscover Arena on Friday 24th September. What caused the change of policy at VAFA HQ?

And no water because only weak bastards need water.

Fantastic to have a couple of beers with Les yesterday. A terrific game with a spirited effort by the Monds , but Monash too big , good and well coached . They can't believe they're luck getting a home final
Yep great to have a coldie with Bedford after a big day of community footy. Monds were very good in first half, the bigger stronger bodies got working for Monash in the second half. Good day, thanks to our hosts.

Lots of experience helping out with the officiating - Russell Barnes, Phil De Young, Paul Farrar and Marius Smith among the action at the Gunn!

Still can’t believe we get a home final....

What are the pros and cons of having a final played at home? Think West Coast in 1991 when they had the qualifying final played at the old Subiaco Oval in Perth. The Eagles were miles ahead of every club in the home & away season, only to come up against a more experienced Hawthorn team who used their vast finals knowledge to great advantage, and in a way, went a long way towards the Hawks winning the premiership against West Coast at Waverley in the grand final.

What has the AFL in 1991 got to do with anything happening in 2 weeks !

The battle for 4th spot goes down to the wire in Round 22.

So who's your tip to get into the finals and face Mazenod in the first semi final-Old Geelong, Parkdale Vultures or Old Ivanhoe?

This is the ladder for the top 6 teams heading into the final round of the H & A season:

*Monash Blues 72
*Hampton Rov. 60
*Mazenod 48
Old Geel. 44
Parkdale 40
Old Ivanhoe 40

*Already qualified for the finals.

Jas,

The ladder is wrong.

OI are on 44 points and need HR to beat OG and for us to meet Preston.

No other team can make it.

Old Geelong will miss out. Old Ivanhoe will win. Unless Rovers don’t show up to play of course.

We know now who's likely to play in the finals, but who's your tip for the following:

-Grand Finalists & Premiership winner

-Lou Zachariah Medal (B & F) winner

- Premier C Team of the Year
