Question, with the 11 teams and 22 round season. How will promotion/ relegation work. Is it 2 up, 2 down and then 2 from div 1 come into premier c? That would make 11 teams again next year, or will it be 10?

Two up and two down causes the same issues.

How about this.
Two down from B and three up from C. Two down from C and two up from D1.

If the team that finished 8th in B didn’t want to go down, they would play the team that finished 3rd in C, to see who makes up the 10th team in B.

If two teams finish on equal points for 3rd in C, both could put a proposal forward to play the 8th team in B.

Is that out of the box enough for you?

Still can't understand why the VAFA decided on a Friday afternoon timeslot to play the Premier C Grand Final.

Couple of problems with this.

1-The team that wins the Preliminary Final will only have a 6 day break to get ready for the Grand Final, as opposed to the side that is victorious in the 2nd semi final who will have 13 days preparation.

2. The spectre of COVID. What would happen if there was an outbreak of COVID involving one (or both) of the grand final teams in the days leading up to the game-what would the VAFA do? Play the grand final on the last Sunday in September, or the first Saturday in October, to give the club(s) more time to recover from the COVID outbreak?

Agree with your first point. I don't think the second point is a valid concern / argument against a Friday timeslot (could equally apply to Sunday fixture). As with any other game this season, bad luck to the team(s) who are affected by COVID.

I know the VAFA wants to take advantage of the AFL Grand Final Eve public holiday, I get that, but surely it would've been better on the Sunday AFTER the AFL GF. After all, when was the last time a grand final held in any league anywhere in Australia was on a Friday afternoon?

Outer East played their Premier GF in 2019 on the holiday Friday (Narre Warren def Berwick).

This year , move on

Correct me if I'm wrong but was JJ Holland Park, the ground where tomorrow's game between UHS-UV and Hampton Rovers, used for North Melbourne's 1977 pre-season training, as was detailed in the late John Powers's excellent 1978 book of Ron Barassi and North's 1977 premiership win, 'The Coach'?

No games for our ressies tomorrow and there is a chance we won’t have one next week.

Makes it hard coming into finals.

Correct.

It's a bit late to do this.

The VAFA needs to spell out before the start of the season how it will all pan out.

For teams who didn't make the finals, their season is already over. You can't drag them back after a few weeks off and say, "OK, you need to play the loser of a Preliminary Final next week".
Prem C still have two rounds to go
