For sure, TK (like some others) might find some new energy with the coach, new players and gameplan. I'm waiting to see how it all comes together before criticizing too much. There's a lot of moving parts yet to be revealed. The lack of media attention on Harley has been a refreshing change. I'm guessing due to low-key training protocols and lots of new players to focus on. Last year was insane. Personally, am more interested in the progress of other players like Hewett, Clay etc. We know what Harley can do and it's exciting; will be a blast watching him with a stronger core around him, feeding off each other.Yep, he’s 30 yrs old now, slowing down, injuries catching up and the end is nigh, hopefully he sees at least a small amount of success before he hangs up the boots.
On a seperate subject it’s nice to see the media focusing on something else other than Harley, hopefully that can continue during the season as other young guns step up.
Would suggest it's a reach a minimum standard type deal and the players don't know when they'll get pulled so they have to run it like they're running the while thing.I'm no Sport Science boffin, just a hobby runner so may be incorrect here, but is the test is going to be capped at certain levels, then what is the point of doing the test for the individual. You may as well just run low intensity laps.
The test is supposed to be hard and basically an all out effort at the end. It has a purpose which is to determine a point at which you reach maximum oxygen intake, and therefore tailor a training program to suit.
If you are going to drop out at say 70%, the result is meaningless, in a SC sense.
It would be like doing a 2km benchmark time trail, but stopping at the 1.5km mark.
The midfield was so bad for so long. You'd think he wouldve transitioned there ages ago if he was up to it.Hehehe the irony that Duggan is going to be playing midfield after all these years, when we absolutely do not want him to.
Yeah, I'm thinking it's a case of him not being happy with Duggan's disposal (for transition out of backline). If he's playing midfield, it must be for pressure only. The midfield was so bad for so long. You'd think he wouldve transitioned there ages ago if he was up to it.
I'd say it was more a case of the new coach try to fit his man into a stacked backline

Should we be worried that he sounds a little condescending and a bit like a high school PE teacher? Hope that’s just day 1.
So, I've read three days of training updates and might have missed so sorry if I have, but the glaring non-elepahant in the room is the little info about Brockman. For someone who did SFA all year for us, had off field issues and cost us draft capital, I was hoping to see something like....
Wow
Brockman came top 3 in the running test.
Brockman showing some grunt in the drills
Brockman looks in great nick

Guess we have to agree to disagree, though lots of posters seem to agree with you.So 14 for Baker seems a good deal then?
Smith coming off an ACL, has attitude problems, won't be in any leadership groups and who knows if he finds his good form again?
Baker perfect for our young group, sure he's 2 years older but he brings excellent experience, leadership and is a tough player.
Talent alone no denying Smith has it, but will he continue to produce? Too many question marks for mine
Worked for the Australian cricket team …Remember, we were the club that thought we had hit genius levels by 'trusting' our players with their own fitness etc

i just found out that Jack Petruccelle was drafted as a half-back/inside midfielder who had one of the highest contested possession rates of his draft class...
Haven't we been looking for someone to fit that role...
These development issues go deep... it's like a rabbit hole
