Honestly my opinion on this is, more than any other side in the comp, we're a team that plays according to "the vibe".

If we get a couple of goals in quick succession then the team look like champions - energy is high, contested effort is high, etc.

The second an oppo team rallies and/ or shuts us down, however: the heads drop, the one-armed half tackles crop up, finger pointing stats rise, etc.

We need to learn to cut the emotion out and just get on with the job. A system that we can play to consistently will go a long way towards that.

That describes an aging list that lacks hunger, size and speed.

Our lack of intent in many games over the past 3 to 4 years has been deplorable.

That is what needs addressing first and foremost.

And in 2025 I am confident that the last two drafts and trade periods will address that and we improve on the small steps taken last season.

The look on Sheeds face at training told the story. "How the hell am I going to keep up with all these kids, never mind three best 22 recruits."

Can see this season for Sheed following Gaff's final season.

Jetta was injury prone at the end and suspect the club was getting tired by his lack of professionalism at times.

Think it was the 2018 Qualifying Final he almost missed because he was at home playing Call of Duty and lost track of time. Got stuck in traffic and ended up having to run across the bridge to make it to the ground before the first bounce.

... and then you c@#$s know what happened next .

Was a good moment but also proves my point though

When you are performing you get more leeway as a player.

Add in a few more years, more inconsistency and injuries the club tolerates your off field shenanigans less and less.

Winning definitely papers over the cracks. I remember Schofield telling Simmo that story on BackChat a few months ago and Simmo was like 'Yeah, sounds about right.'

Winning 10 games in three years deserves no leeway.
