Mmmm id argue his 2019 season was his best after backing up his 2018 GF performance.
And yet some compared Graham to SheedSays a lot that Graham and Baker were our top two in last weeks time trial beep test thingy. Staggers me how standards fell so low when guys like Hurn were still at the club up until this year.

Flipping hell if that's true then we're starting further back than I thought.
WTF happened to this club!?
Bit of context might help here
• The finishing order was Graham, Cole, Baker with little separating them
• Part of the reason we recruited Baker and Graham was said to be their high training standards so it should’ve been expected for them to do well
• Another part of the reason they were recruited was we lacked numbers in their age group. They’re both 26 and essentially in their physical prime with several preseasons under their belt
• Players in that same age group are - Petruccelle (25) - on a modified program and didn’t participate
• Ginbey had done the same test with the young group. He’d have beaten both of them
- Allen (25) - KPF not expected to outrun mids
- Waterman (26) - hasn’t been in full training but wasn’t too far behind
- Flynn (27) - ruck, see Oscar
- Owies (27) - forget where he finished tbh
- Duggan (28) - hasn’t been as good a runner due to his ongoing knee management. Still wasn’t far back though
- Ryan (28) - training hasn’t been his strong point and has been discussed in this thread
- Sheed (29) - didn’t participate
- Hunt (29) - wasn’t far back from memory
- Kelly (30) - he could be fitter tbh but may still be working his way back from his knee/hip issues that he battled with last season
• At Essendon and the Bulldogs, a new draftee won their time trials so I’m not sure we need to worry about two seasoned veterans winning ours
Just saying
Be pleased they’ve come as advertised, it’s a good thing they did well
Hello and welcome to bigfooty. Here I was thinking that our new recruits performing well in the fitness test would be seen as a good thing
Where did I write last season?Gaff barely played last season.
Yeah I think there’s a lot of people here need to go into the room of mirrors.Hello and welcome to bigfooty.
Where did I write last season?
No you just needed to get it right, what we need to move on from is Simmo style credits. So you were complaining about credits from 2 seasons ago, when last season it was obvious he was no longer receiving the same treatment?
Might need to move on mate.
I agree, I really hate any negativity directed at Baker, Graham or Owies. Its pathetic.Yeah I think there’s a lot of people here need to go into the room of mirrors.
Some of the stuff posted at the height of the trade-draft ‘panic’ were misrepresentations, simply wrong and/or vindictive.
Sadly, it gave me some small insight into the unbelievable mob dynamics that we saw in America.
I hope they do, nothing wrong with having a good laugh at some of the crap that gets posted on here. Furthermore, if they (unfortunately) do venture on here I'm sure they're well equipped emotionally to deal with it.I agree, I really hate any negativity directed at Baker, Graham or Owies. Far out, imagine having quality B22 footballers in their prime that want to play at our club. How lucky are we? People forget how hard it is to recruit players in. Look at North for example who have also been terrible of late, the only players they get are players like Darling and Parker who are trying to squeeze a few more years.
We have recruited a bloke like Baker who a lot of Tiger supporters would give back pick 14 in a heartbeat to get him back, a bloke that would be their captain this year if he stayed. We also got a ready made 30 goal forward and a tough premiership midfielder in Graham. These are players that we have been crying out for the last couple of years.
Some people need to get a grip, I just hope that any of these recruits we have welcomed to the club recently don't read this forum.
Think 2018 finals and 2019 we’re probably the only two times in his career he was able to play his natural role as a balanced mid. Spent a lot of HFF/Wing early in his career and was always in and out of the side. During Covid years injuries injuries meant he was being used as an extractor. Got a lot of the ball there but due to the lack of size/speed/strength he used the ball terribly. After that injuries really derailed his career.Mmmm id argue his 2019 season was his best after backing up his 2018 GF performance.
I also remember people moaning because Waterman was training the house down last pre-season. Turned out pretty well for us.Bit of context might help here

Up until gaff wacked brayshaw sheed was in and out of the team. He certainly made the most of gaffs brain fart. In and out of the team is pretty much as good as it should've gotten for himSheed's last quarter of the 2018 GF was enormous, with multiple contests and hard 2 way running and his goal often over shadows those other contributions.
Post 2018, its almost like he was content with what he had achieved previously and I suspect him not going on with it was a combo of not being able to get his body right and Simmo being incapable of delivering hard truths/making demands of the 2018 coterie.
In fact Sheed's and Simmo's winding down of their careers have a lot of similarities, with both going out with a whimper.
Mind you, still living off the 2018 glory, with the GF saved to foxtel and still getting a run every couple of months (mainly at around 1am after getting home from beers) - thanks sheed/simmo.
That and Rd 6 2024 (Jackson getting pawned by BW repeatedly in marking contests, is epic)
It isn't exactly true. The fitness test was run for non-1st to 4th year players who were not in reduced loads + Draftees. They did come first and second but a number of players were pulled out of the test before it finished.Flipping hell if that's true then we're starting further back than I thought.

Based on BigFooty i think he's lining up at CHF and we're delisting Oscar.sorry I thought Gaff retired my mistake

Hamish Davis for example can run all day but was stopped early because he had achieved the maximum that was planned for his program. I would suggest we don't overreact every time someone is managed, we have heaps of kids and it's a long season.
Lest we forget!sorry I thought Gaff retired my mistake
