PSD pick #1 - Who will we use it on?

what's krakouer like? haven't seen much of port this year but they don't seem to fancy him on their board, apparently is a bit lazy, and also what position/s does he play? i reckon we need a quick wingman/back flanker who can run and carry and finish well (obviously) people are mentioning sherman, i like the sound of that but doesn't seem like he'll leave the lions, although he may be keen to get out of brisbane hence being dropped for being out of form even tho he's been a more consistent player in the (second) most out of form team. but i don't know much about drafting/trading periods.

Sherman is a goal kicking half forward with good pace.

Krakeour is a Running half back.

Personally i wouldn't mind either on our list and think both would come quite cheap.

If and i must stress if we end up with the priority pick that gives us picks 4,26(priority before start of second round,28. I wouldnt use any of those on either player but i dont see us going much deeper in the draft than those picks so would be willing to trade out our other picks with or without players for these two.

As i said before i think we'll take motlop in the psd or reimers. AFAIK reimers has and is having issues with essendon and might want out. He's a showy HFF who loves a goal. Can be a bit selfish but is very quick and could become a very good player. Have been told though he is a bit of an arseh*le irl.

I hope so, but GC will hunt him with one of their pre-selected picks of previously listed AFL players.

Hopefully he has settled in Perth and doesn't want to leave again.

West Coast better be in his ear in any case.

Prankster - think logiocally, GC arent going to draft Andrew Krakouer

1) He's been out of the system 2-3 years - they will want recent AFL delistees.
2) He's out of their target age group
3) Who would uproot a 27 yr old and pay to move him across the other side of Aust for what at best 2-3 years service.

Based on the above no non WA club GC or otherwise will move on Krakouer - he's WC bound if they want him.

If Krak is happy to reignite his career at GC I don't think they would have any problem drafting him.

He has at least 3 years in him and is playing great footy.

GC still need to be compeitive in the first few years before their kids mature so if they don't have to pay much for Krak, and they won't, then I see no reason why they would balk at him providing he was happy to join them.

Its no different to the reason we would draft him, as a gap measure until our young kids develop.

He gives you experience and polish.

I suspect Kyle Reimers will announce after the end of the season that he is returning home.

This will be interesting because he will have already negotiated a deal in principle with a WA based club. Essendon will want pick 4 but he's not worth anything near that and Essendon will have limited bargaining power. I'm tipping McKinley to be used in the deal.

He is definitely a skill player. But why wait for PSD ? Why not a third round pick ? PSD will take up a senior player position anyway !

Because our 3rd round pick is going to be pick 44 as compared to pick 1 in the PSD equates realistically to pick 100.

Also we may well use pick 44 in a trade with a player (McKinely + pick 44 for ????), and we can't trade pick 1 in the PSD.

If we do have a #1 in the PSD then we finally have some bargaining power in draft negotiations.

The other club can take the draft picks we offer or run the risk of the PSD if they can't sign the player up.

Sorry for my ignorance ! I think we need to delist/vacate a certain number of (at least 3) players before the draft and as a result obtain the equal number of National Picks.

Only if we do not use all the National Draft Picks, then we have the PSD. If a player goes into the National Draft and he does not get pick, then he has the second chance to get pick in the PSD. Only those AFL players find themself out of contract after the National Draft will go into PSD and bypassing the National Draft, otherwise they will maximise their chance of putting their name in the National Draft (then wait for the luck).

Andrew Krakouer is now a WAFL player, I believe he will go thru the National Draft instead. (unless there are some clever deals !)

Please let me know if I am wrong.

If Sherman is out of contract I'm tipping him.

Was a big Eagles fan prior to getting drafted and wanted to play for us I understand.

A big end of season review coming up at Brisbane, he's out of form and playing in the QAFL. If he gets a ribbing from the club / Voss etc I could see him giving them the bird and walking onto a plane heading west.:D:thumbsu:

Age 23 118 games 85 goals and fast.

I am just getting into this. So we use pick 4 on a QAFL player?

No, we wouldn't trade pick 4 for Sherman. But Brisbane could ask for it. I'd say we would offer a second round pick..
I say we keep pick 4 & draft best available. There's always the option of doing a player trade if we want Sherman bad enough..

Alex Rance from the Tigers maybe!

Has issues with his disposal we all know but gets A+ for effort and balls.

A cheap backup kp backman instead of Wilkes maybe? Wilkes is probably better ATM.

He's is the level of player you expect to pick up in the PSD.

A not quite KPD with questionable disposal but good endeavor??

In the line behind Mackenzie, Schofield, Brown, Wilkes and Spangher......

Reimers is utter gash.

Drops out of games for large periods of time and isnt spectacular at anything. Disposal is no good. Not an answer to any of our problems.

Nathan Krakouer is the one.

The reason why Reimers is a good PSD candidate is that he's talented and quick. He's inconsistent in all aspects of his game though.
What's good is that there's plenty to work with. If he comes good, he's a steal. If he doesn't, there's little consequence, given that a PSD pick is a nothing pick. Like a PSD pick, Reimers can be easily disposed of by trading or delisting.
