Yes well, he was only saying what every Hawthorn supporter was thinking. Umpires should not be beyond criticism, players certainly aren't.Alastair has apologised about his umpiring comments on Fox just now

How is it that AFL-accredited journalists are allowed to ask questions that AFL coaches aren't allowed to answer?Reporter: what did you think of the umpiring
Don't go asking questions that we think we know the answer, when we cannot be sure we are right. How is it that AFL-accredited journalists are allowed to ask questions that AFL coaches aren't allowed to answer?
Where is the fine for that?
Speaking of blatant provocation, Mick Molloy's favourite thing in the first half of the season has been "that Hawthorn suck."

This is from Ch7:
I must be super slow, I don't understand what's wrong with Clarko's comments. Confused .
He called the umpiring disgraceful
Right or wrong he knows he can't do that.
Jon Ralph also wonders why reporters put coaches in that position in asking provocative questions so soon after a game
I still want to ask why but I think I know the answer. Arrgghh now I'm getting really frustrated with the AFL.
Next time just say no comment, no comment and thank you with big smile to finish the presser Clarko.
"I told him twice"...you can hear the ump say "Hold, hold"The ump told Howe that he told Brand to move back twice
"I told him twice"...you can hear the ump say "Hold, hold"
I think that was what he was talking about. I think the line Fox drew on the screen was bollocks, Brand was okay were he was standing, but he crept in a step or so as Ainsworth kicked.

So he didn't call his name, then after saying back a metre says "hold". Clear direction!Umpire:"1 metre, 15 gone .... step back 1 metre please Hawthorn ... hold..hold ... priiiitttt".
it was a shit call seems to be the general consensusJust To be annoying Mr Lizard does this mean a player can't move at all
As irrelevant as it is, I still don't think he moved towards the kicker
Like you said, we shouldn't have found ourselves in this situation to start with. We had our chances
You aren't annoying me. I wish I had the official answers though...I sit here most weeks hoping the club takes the umpires to task (ie "seeks clarification") but I don't even know that they do.Just To be annoying Mr Lizard does this mean a player can't move at all

I want to know why they can't be question, they're paid to do a job. **** I'd live a job where I can't be questioned by fellow employers of the company. He called the umpiring disgraceful

They can be questioned and are all the time, by the fans, by the media, and through official channels (ie behind closed doors) if by the clubs.I want to know why they can't be question, they're paid to do a job. **** I'd live a job where I can't be questioned by fellow employers of the company.
There is no transparency in how the AFL operate. They have even discontinued the whistle blowers, where occasionally we would get the umpire made a mistake. They remind me of the gestapo. How is it that AFL-accredited journalists are allowed to ask questions that AFL coaches aren't allowed to answer?

I didn't think he moved off the line at all
I don't watch losing replays so I'm never going to know
Jonathan brown trying to draw a ******* line made me want to throw something at the screen so he'd stfu
