The chances of Pedlar playing R1 would have to be super low at this point.

I reckon I'd have it at a coin flip, but the key is for Pedlar to hit preseason hard.

The big thing in his favour is none of our additions affect Pedlar. AVB is going to wipe out Murphy, Cummins/Peatling/Draper are for our midfield/defense group. Especially if Rankine does get more midfield minutes. There is definitely a spot for another tough goalkicker in our lineup.

If he doesn't have a great preseason though, it then runs a risk that it's this spot that gets used for Curtin/Draper.

Crouch and Laird can't and won't be in the same team. I hope both are in the sanfl. Laird is done and Crouch is too slow to run defensively.

Crouch is still part of our best midfield, particularly with quicker players around him.

Laird isn't, so I have named him as a defender.

If Milera is 100% fit he makes the best 22

comes down to his preseason form. Our depth now is at a stage where unless you deserve to be selected in round 1 there will be no spots available to find form. Not like how before Milera was gifted 3-4 games where he played poorly but was allowed to find his form. Ultimately this is the most competitive pre season for spots come round 1 we have had since well before the rebuild. Players should turn up to pre season looking to break PBs and impress.

Pedlar isn't a goal kicker though, he's a mid we played as a defensive forward. That spot is now gone to both Keays and ANB, unless injuries hit.

We all want Pedlar to do well and he is only 22 but quite a few others have gone past him. Due to our inept list management, he still has 2 years left on his contract so he has time but he needs to prepare better so he doesn't always break down and sort out his sub AFL standard disposal. Feel like he's towards the bottom of the list pecking order right now.

he is at the make or break stage of his time on the list. If he cant impact selection at AFL level then he is all but done.

TT, Tex, Fog, Rachele, ANB, Keays, that's 6 of the 7 without a rotating mid included. He's well up against it.
