The midfield rotations worked well today.

This may just be me but it seemed we ran with the LDU/JY combo for the majority of a quarter, and then changed it up and ran with Wardlaw/Sheezel for a bit. And back again.
With Powelly floating through.

Felt that was the best our midfields looked in a while and there was still enough petrol in the tank to get us home in the end.

WCE fans are probably the most delusional in the league.

They think they are world beaters all of a sudden since Harley Reid literally won 3 games off his own boot.

Their depth sucks and they are an old list and will have 10+ retirees soon.
Outside of Reid their youth just isn't very good.

Pretty fair summary.

Had a work function today so couldn't watch the game.
App spazzed out in the last 5 mins and wasn't updating properly, so looked like west coast were ahead by 3 with 30s to go.
Then it all updated and I saw the real score.

Had a few more drinks than I meant to after that.
Now staying up til 3am so I can watch the replay, cause **** Foxtel and not being able to on demand games til the next day or two. And **** paying kayo 30 bucks.

When 33 up i knew they would come back at us hard. I honestly thought we'd still lose from that position but great character from the lads to give up the lead and take it back.

such a relief to win that, always felt like we were gonna get 1 game where a team is something like 2.15, to capatilise on it and post a win is huge.

Hopefully we see more positive footy moving forward now that the winless season concern is behind us.

Honestly the most satisfying part of the evening.

That effort is inspirational. All we can ask for is 100% effort and this guy gives his all regularly.
That effort is one of the best run down tackles I've seen by a North Melbourne player in the last 20 years and I'll tell you why. 1/ Game on the line, last quarter, most guys gassed, flyin Ryan gets the ball and is off, X chasing, but a tired ruckman has no chance and a chance we lose this game, even with his pace flyin Ryan knows someones chasing him and can't quite get away, watched it many times and although Tristan didn't bring him to ground that is without doubt the best I've seen in two decades and I've seen some rippers, but factoring in all the circumstances its number1.

2/During the chase he's [Tristan}} grimacing, in pain, but he does something unbelievable halfway through the chase he knows Ryan is not putting more space between them and so he goes even harder, slowly bridging the gap until finally within a lunging tackle, he throws himself at Ryan who misdirects the kick because of the pressure Tristan put on.

3/When Ryan took the ball he headed straight for the wing heading at an angle of almost 330 degrees, now he did this because if he headed in a straight line LDU would have caught him but by diverting to around 330 degrees LDU and everyone else had no chance bar a tiring ruckman, this was actually very smart by Ryan but he wouldn't have guessed in a million years that a ruckman would run him down in the last quarter, he was wrong, dead wrong.:north::north:

It was such a crucial win. You cannot underestimate the importance of getting a W when the youngest team with minimal experience is playing each week under heavy duress. Although Clarko and Viney still have a long-term view on the club's direction, it must be so satisfying to finally get some reward for effort. For what felt like forever, we couldn't put together enough good football to remain competitive and perhaps dare to dream. Today, we didn't just dare, we made it a reality. The young players should be proud and the senior leaders should be feeling the same too because it wasn't long ago we wanted their heads on a stick.

A win like that against a team that has played well at home will go a long way into giving each player a huge confidence booster. That extra effort, that extra smother, tackle, goal, mark, kick... every single aspect of the game all of a sudden, means so much more.

They must've felt utterly crap when they hit the front and we were under immense pressure. The mental demons would've been trying to force their way through and it would've taken an astronomical amount of mental and physical capacity to overcome that. It cannot be understated how difficult it is to change momentum, especially against a team that had the 19th man being the home crowd. Not to mention being the least-experienced and youngest team in the comp!

Tonight's triumph galvanises the footy club. Any footy club. When there has been so much pressure and repeat let-downs, achieving a victory as remarkable as tonight is what reignites the desire for all players to achieve something greater. Football is now fun again for the players and coaches doing it tough.

Now that they know how it feels, they gotta want it for another 10 weeks.

Got home from work three hours ago and my heart is still going, can't go to sleep, that would be crazy, reading all our posts {almost all} during and after the win and posting as well, so excited, time in Adelaide now is 2.20 am in the morning and very shortly going to watch the whole game, god I love this club and our supporters.😍🥳

A few folks have mentioned how little luck we have had lately. I don't want to take away from the win, but relooking at the last quarter, it jumps out that the Duggan Hutchinson clash was a genunine bit of luck for us. Overall it's a really important win for us and I think you've got the earn the chance to, you know, take advantage of your luck, which we did, but I think it's also healthy to acknowledge lucky breaks too. It seems likely that this is the beginning of the turning of the wheel.

The turning of the wheel was the first half against Freo, yes we didn't win but that there is the blueprint, then today a glorious victory but we are going to get better, with youngsters it takes time plus with youngsters you get inconsistency, but a win, well nothing beats a win and with some shock results lately its going to be an interesting 2nd half of the year.
