I really love the way Hewett plays, has a very cool head on his shoulders. For someone who has played just 27 AFL games and is in his second year, he is brilliant.

Pardon the intrusion but didn't the Dogs win from 7th last year? Something that had never been done before. There is no reaosn why you can't win the flag after starting 0-6. The only team to beat you the last 10 rounds have been Hawthorn and I doubt they make finals so you needn't worry about them. Tonight is a big test for my boys, you smashed us both times last year so it'll be interesting to see if we've closed the gap at all. I'd honestly be happy to get within a goal, that itself would be a huge improvement on what we dished up last year. Heres to a good game tonight!

The Dogs won from 7th last season because they utilised better than any other team, the 25 man rotating midfield in each of those finals.

I'd say just this week but they may also rest him against Freo. He was 50/50 to play this week as there was no tear, just inflammation but smarter resting him.

Was a good hit for sure.
Watched him carefully after it - I was surprised he took it so well.
Speaking of tackles I hope Horse called the AFL about Heeney's great tackle that was mistakenly (or corruptly) penalized. I don't want to see that taken out of his game. More of it tonight on some skinny Geelong players!

How are we favourites

Up against a top 4 side who we rarely beat in Geelong. Got them last year when we were top and they well um weren’t.

Both sides lose their best midfielder.

Their own Coach voted by his peers as one of the hardest to coach against. 3 guys coming back into the squad from injuries 1 from a long lay off due to form.

We haven’t totally been convincing in our run of victories.

I understand that we are a chance with Geelong's injury concerns (they didn't miss those same outs last week) but favourites seems odd to me.
