Two average to ordinary teams who at best are 7-8, but will more likely finish 10-12.
One has a coach who at least appears to have his team heading in the right direction, whilst the other has a bloke who should go back to selling second hand Fords at a B grade car dealership in Geelong.
The plain fact is Kern was kissed on the d*ck by the Kochmeister, and when the message finally gets through to the club that he isn't a senior AFL coach's rear end they can send him home happy in the knowledge they have set him up for life.
Short of an injury crisis or other unforeseen implosion, Brisbane will make the eight.
Tom Cutler, Louis Taylor, Allen Christensen and Nick Robertson can’t crack this lineup atm, and premiership Bulldog Marcus Adams will be fit in a month or so.

If they played better.
I said it half way thru 2015 so it's been a long, tough ride. Robbie kept me going but I'm really worried about him this year. Our star young recruits who have not yet been Kenanised will keep me going in 2019.

I get that we are all pissed off with the result, but I just can't help looking at the positives here. Rozee is a ****ing player. And Pep finally seems to be back on track
In three weeks we've learned so much about how seriously elite our youth are.

Clurey so far has taken the step from promising fb to Mr Reliable. Has been underrated how good he has been
Houston has gone next level. He has become the most complete defender going around who you would need a magnifying glass to try to pick a mistake.

Drew coming out of nowhere. He is still just a 3 gamer, whose probably played less than 20 games at any level since being here, barely had a chance to work on his body and fitness. We don’t even know yet what drew could become.
Lycett Ryder partnership not only works, but is one of the great ruck partnerships of modern football to be honest. They both have different strengths.
SPP . This has been the great one for me. Underrated what he has done. Pre draft his knocks were on his ability to find the ball , position and workrate. Has miraculously become one of the best and hardest runners on our team this year. His line breaking run is super important to our side now. The amount of players in the league who can absolutely dominate clearances for periods like he can and provide that line breaking speed on the outside he can doesn’t really exist.
Burton has been genuinely good. Does fly under radar a bit but has been a 2 way player and only going to get better
Dbj. Needs to stop making mistakes but his workrate in defense has been beyond phenomenal.
We have players really fighting for spots
Atley, Farrell , Mayes, Trengove Johnson and Frampton have had a genuinely very good start to the year and there has been more behind them also showing a fair bit.

We will.. Should have won by 4 or 5 goals last night, even though we had an extremely poor game with several senior players way off their game...
