Crows have scored 410 points ytd - next closest 3 games played is the Saints on 305!
So we are averaging 35 points a game more than the next best offence (Suns are doing very well at prorata 384)

It’s certainly the right kind of springboard to boost our confidence for the rest of the season. The Suns and Cats in the next fortnight, will be a very good test for us, because in recent years we often trip up when playing with the lower rank contenders.

Hinge BOG for me.
Yeah, Hinge was very good today, but (from the AFC site --- ****nows what metrics they use):
"Adelaide: Laird [], Rankine, Soligo, Dawson, Keays" <== note: no love for Walker, either :eekv1: .
Tex's 2 goals from ruck contests in our F50 were great individual highlights; 4 for the game

Laird was not BoG, nor Rankine our second best.

I wouldn't put any money on us until we beat teams projected to finish in the top 8.

Next 4 weeks will give us a really good look. Gold Coast (away), Geelong and GWS at home, then Fremantle away.

Our defense and stoppage will need some work to win all of those

Definitely. I wouldn't project us to win all 4. I won't be tipping us this week.

Could be a 40 goal shoot out next week :D

Don’t know if you’ve noticed this also, but I feel Keays’ kicking has actually improved quite a bit, particularly when kicking for goals.
Agreed. I think he used to try to do too much, too many things at once.
I think he is calmer now too; plays better within his limitations (ie still not a very good R-foot kick :sneaky: )
His decision making sometimes can trip up, but the kicking is of a fairly good standard now.
He's steadier.
I reckon he's dialled back that FastForward button and is definitely looking more for teammates in a good position.

Our backline was superb?

Thought Milera, Keane & Borlase were well beaten.

Hinge & Laird were superb.

Max & Woz solid as usual.
Sum of all parts.

Agree on the individual analysis on those who were beaten though.

But they look pretty organised, and mopped up or pressured a lot of loose ball chances.

Our exits out of defence were generally good too.

Good - Peatling lifted his game big time after a bit of a poor game last week - excellent improvement and showed why we wanted him.

Sort of good - we won without having played a dominant game - our big guns didn’t excel and we lost Rachelle early

Ugly - Clarkson or someone obviously told his chargers to be physical and go the hit etc. umpires gave them crucial frees
Yeah, Peatling was really good. His best game with us by a long way.

He's a strnge one. I always think he is a player that we can replace with a better one, but he keeps bobbing up and proving me wrong.

What I took out of this game was even though, we had players down on form, an early injury to a productive forward nad on the end of some absolute baffling frees for goals, we had the game under control the whole time.

Give North credit, they didn't let some of our key players have good games and they kept decent pressure up all day but we still had enough cattle to see us through and win.

Was really happy Peatling played a good game today, we will find as the season goes on that him and the load will fit in perfectly. I also thought Nibblers pressure is amazing, some of his chasing is elite and his ball use very good. Lastly, Curtin, man that kid, that kid, sign him up, two or three years time, he will have Thillys physique and be in the midfield.

After both St Kilda and Essendon played well the week after we played them, indicating they wernt as bad as we thought, I will be interested to see how North go in the next few weeks.

At no point did I actually think north were in the game regardless of the scoreboard.
I went with a mate and we both thought/discussed how NM seemed to be in it until after we kicked away in the Third when they got to within 8 points.
I thought with 8.5 to 5.5 at 1/2 time it was anybody's game.
I rarely whinge about Umpires but today was shocking; their interpretation of what was/wasn't 15m and soft frees to NM kept NM in touch.

I think it’s both his self improvement, but also the team having better skills, so he has more confidence playing around them. When we were the youngest side in the comp a few years back, he was probably trying to do too much, and beyond his limits.

We're now one of only four teams (along with Hawthorn, Brisbane and Gold Coast) who haven't lost a game. Our percentage is second only to Gold Coast's.

Oh, and Port are sitting in 12th, just quietly.
We haven't beaten a side that we didn't also beat last year. We are yet to know if we have improved.
