Boy oh boy. Oh boy. Oh boy.

Out: Mackay, Douglas, McGovern
In: Milera, Lyons, Menzel

  • Mackay was putrid. Terrible game. Confirmed downhill skiier. Was invisible as a senior player
  • Douglas was invisible and also putrid. Has been one of our weaker midfielders for weeks.
  • McGovern didn't do enough. It's all well and good to carry a young player but he's had his run. We need a player with more impact in the side.
Milera comes in for Mackay. Massive upgrade.
Lyons comes in for Douglas. He's been the better midfielder the weeks prior to today
Menzel in for McGovern. I'm sure McGovern will be back but he needs a spell

Chopping Block: Lever, Cheney, Henderson, Walker

Lever was bad tonight. Didn't know what he was doing
Cheney stuffed up some crucial contests tonight. Very disappointing. We need someone to grab his spot
Henderson is soft and shit, keeping a spot warm for Laird
Walker was diabolical for most of the match. Close to needing a spell

Agree with a couple of your outs Scorpus.
Looks like Mackay is injured, but he should go out.
I have been calling for Dougie to be looked at for weeks - today he could not have been more of a liability.

I would add Henderson - I did not want him in and his contribution was pathetic.

Thommo had an absolute shocker - he is still a warrior, but always found out when the pace of the
Game is high.

Bring back Lyons, probably Milera, maybe Knight.

Problem with omitting Henderson is that with Laird out there's not much in our reserves to replace him

I really want to omit Cheney for structural reasons, but his replacements are either injured (Hampton), useless (Van Berlo) or not ready (Doedee)
Other than his first five minutes where he gave up the free kick and goal and also had one turnover, did Cheney do much wrong tonight? He was the only one of the four bigger back men who didn't consistently turn over the ball in dangerous areas tonight. And so much of what went wrong down back can be blamed squarely on how poor our midfield was tonight. God they got smashed.

I'm a big defender of Cheney. But he was not good against medium-sized opponents. The only thing he does well is dispose well and block space. He is not that good as a defender against actual midfielders. And really we don't need 4 defenders to stop tall players
