Cripps got caught holding the ball a few times but he had no choice but to basically take on the opposition players.

He’d barge through and win the ball and look around to find someone to dish off the handball to but there would be no one in support so the only other option was to hold onto the ball for as long as he could.

Tonight showed us we need Pickett back badly......Mckay and LOB need a well earned rest....we should have won that match....but at least we showed a little...next weeks match against the swans will be played very similarly.. it will be a very low scoring game.....Cripps is a machine....Fisher is one of our bet ball user and is really good in traffic....Willow needs to come in when match fit, would love to see him running the with plowman the other...
Agree Pickett would’ve been handy tonight, we needed a quick small skilled forward.

I would keep playing McKay in the seniors, even it’s for 60% game time - he’s a third year player that needs games, and I’m not sure he’ll learn a great deal in the VFL.

Take a look at who returned to the team this week and maybe that's the pertinent point.
With the two Curnows, Weitering and Cuningham back in the side we were always going to be much better than we were last week.

Best you stick your head out the window and take a deep Breath,,

The Whole world Stinks.....

Twas I talking about last week..

FFS.

It must have pained you greatly to watch him play a couple of half decent games in a row lately then. I want him out of the team too. But vitriol is weak.
Vitriol??
You’re very easily pleased if you think he’s played “ half decent “. He has a crack but he’s just an awful awful footballer.

As for “ vitriol” have you ever been to the footy? Ever heard any banter or participated in it at the footy? Or is maybe your footy interaction limited to Internet forums?

How good is it seeing Dow go shoulder to shoulder with men that have close to 10kg on him, such as Dangerfield, and at least halving the contest (sometimes winning it)?

Makes me all warm and fuzzy inside.
You can tell he is made of the right stuff. Pre/draft I remember one of the head recruiters likened him to Lenny Hayes and applauded his attitude, consistency to play at a high level and his willingness to put his head over the ball. The mental attitude/competitiveness of players is an absolute necessity to become great, the best just have more of it. Selwood, Dangerfield, Cripps, Franklin all have it in spades and I think Dow does too. A long way to go to reach those kind of levels but I really like what I see.

He made up for it with a few htb tackles.
