Think I'll go a bit more unique and give Buddy the VC rather then Barlow/Hodge. If he does nothing I've still got Swan/Ablett/Bartel/Montagna as options.

So I have McNeil and Swannie (my preferred captain) playing 2nd week. If I want to exploit this loophole I put McNeil on the field with the Big C, and put Swan on the bench. I then put the VC on someone like Hodge who is playing 1st week.
Then once the first weeks lockout is over, and I'm not happy with Hodge's score as skipper, I put Swan back on the field and give him the captaincy.
I only ask because I had a look at it and I can't make McNeil captain whilst he is sitting on the pine. I'm not too fussed because I'll most likely just give Swannie the captaincy now anyway!
Wanted to take advantage of the loophole but didn't have the players to do it unfortunately.
Would have locked in Buddy had I been able to but didn't want to take the risk of having him locked in as skipper.
Went for Swanny instead.
I'm taking the 130 of Buddy's even if one of my mids scores over that I won't be fussed as 130 is a solid Captain score
Not quite sure what you mean by the risk? Did you make Buddy VC?
At the moment I have Buddy VC and Swan C, but not the players to do it. The only way I'll be able to take Buddy's score is if one of my 13b players isn't named, in which case I'll definitely take the 130.
With Swan/Chappy/Bartel/Gysberts playing next week, you could change captain so I don't get why you just didn't put Buddy VC just in case Gysberts does get dropped.
You don't need to make the bench player captain THIS WEEK to use the loophole. Just put one of those guns captain, Gysberts emg and wait to see what the VC scores; that's the whole point of the loophole.
Using Swan C as an example ...
If Gysberts gets dropped, you'd just sub him on for Swan (making him emg) and get Buddy's C score.
If Gysberts stays in, just stick with Swan C. If Gysberts is named emg, I guess that's too risky in case he's a late inclusion and you'd still stick with Swan C.
The only risk is if Swan misses and you cop a zero (having another reserve mid scoring). But you didn't mention that as the problem.
don't have Jimmy, what's Hayes like in the wet?
Wet, Big game = Bartel.
Although I thought the same thing at the last game at Skilled and he scored 60.
