The way I interpret North Melbourne demolition of St Kilda is that you should be very wary of playing a team that lost in round 1 because they are staring down the barrel of a 0-2 record and all sorts of pressure.
Subsequently we should be epically fearful of the effort that Carlton will put in today. We go into this game far too comfortable mentally compared to Carlton.
Backing up my fears is the insipid effort our blokes put into the third quarter last week when they had a comfortable lead, Dew did not get them into the right competitive head space then.
I feel nothing but a sense of impending doom.

Insipid effort? Nothing to do with the effort. The effort what exactly the same as all the other quarters. North made adjustments (e.g. Ziebell forward) and Suns continued to play more dry footy as in 2nd quarter even when it started to rain again.

We lost the quarter 25-2. It was poor. We played 3 out of 4 quarters. Which admittedly is an improvement on last year which was we would play only 1 or 2 quarters. So things are looking up.

Today is the start of the season
I took very little out of last week's mud wrestle other than 4 points and some decent effort
As game time approaches I feel more and more uncomfortable at the omission of Barlow

Come on Suns.
Can't wait to see the boys on a fast track.
Hoping the Jack Martins, Lachine Wellers, Jack Bowes can show us some silky outside skills.

Got Cripps as SC VC - wouldn't mind having to take Titch as captain but he could light us up. Will need Lyons / Swallow some of our bigger mid bodies to lock him up.

Watts looks to have a clear ascendency in the ruck. Need our mids to make the most of it.
Just dropping it down to Lyons when Cripps is draped all over him is not maximising the advantage.
