Why not Banfield?

Can anyone say with a straight face Erasmus wouldn't do the medium pressure forward role better than Banfield?
Erasmus’ role isnt that though.
Banfield has been stepping up his intensity and rhe last two weeks with this forward line, it has clicked. Shouldn’t touch that group. 100+ points each in the last two weeks.

Honestly, that should be his baseline. If you are the 20th-23rd player in the team, you need to be putting in these numbers regularly to maintain your spot and not once every 6-8 games. If you don't, there needs to be something else you add to the team which he doesn't.
If he averaged that, let alone had it as his baseline, he'd be one of the best small fwds in the comp and we'd be paying him somewhat more than we are now.

15 disposals with a goal and an assist or 2 most games is not asking a helluva lot from a small/mid-sized forward I wouldn't have thought. Obviously the score involvements depends on the entire side but the disposals and goals are largely on him.

Jackson was UNBELIEVABLE until about half way through the 3rd when he faded a little.

Amiss and Treacy steadying the ship was beautiful to see. Every Freo fan should have loved Treacy’s game today. Hitting contests like a freight train, taking marks, kicked goals. If he could just start clunking them inside 50 he will be a monster. But at age 20 the upside is huge.

So if this game proved anything, ESPECIALLY during a development season like this (we probably aren’t winning the flag tbh) is that Amiss Treacy and Jackson have to play every single game together for the rest of the year to start building some chemistry and momentum for the future.

Also thought Erasmus was pretty good today, the best he’s looked and shouldn’t have been subbed (Hughes or Aish today IMO. JL being conservative again).

Man, looks like a great result but wasn't able to watch it due to family life.
Gonna catch it tomoz but likin the goal digits listed against our bigs!

If that was his baseline he wouldn't be 20th - 23rd he'd be first 18.

3 simple words.

"I was wrong".

All's I'm saying is that in a professional sporting environment it should be known that even if you do everything right, you may still be forced out. In addition, the culture and communication within the organisation should be robust enough to frame that in a positive light and be a source of motivation to all the players.

IIRC, Banners is also much taller than Ras. Banners is 190cm on the button, but from memory I think Ras is only 184cm.
nah he's 190

Fyfe showing his old midfield contested bull swagger in the last was massive. I dont want to see him anything other than resting forward from now on.
He plays in the guts as a genuine midfielder and we have our actual forwards in Treacy amiss and Jackson.

Fyfe is an elite mid, and a poor forward. It’s not rocket science here…

Treacy’s Manager would have got half a dozen texts from Victorian list Managers by now.

If you‘re reading this Belly crank your printer up and fire out a $400k x 3yr contract to him tomorrow morning
I’ll absolutely spew if we start playing games with him, like we did last year with Logue and acres.

Stop letting required players drift into May and June OOC. Just pay the kid. He’s worth 350k now easily.

Yeah and if Sturt did that once, half the board would be saying he is the second coming and must never be dropped ;)
