Review Rd 9: Freo keep rolling against the Swans

Jackson is gonna be some player! 21 years old and it’s actually scary how good he is going to be. Loved Treacys game I knew he had this sort of game in him. Got to stick with this forward line moving forward. Whatever happens the rest of the season one thing I’m confident of is the fact that we are building something special. REALLY SPECIAL. I had jumped of JLO early on in the season and I feel like I jumped off too quickly. He’s the right guy, just took abit for the players to click.

Haters are going to disproportionately hate with their biased summative of limited quantified real world evidence ..
Lol haters gonna hate hate hate, players gonna play play play..

Where's the hate with Brayshaw. Delivery into forward line hasn't been one of his strong points..usually he just bombs it in or doesn't hit the target..no hate here. 😒

Are the haters in the room with you now, hoss?
No haters here Righteo. Can't really remember what I posted 10 or 15 years ago on here but pretty sure I didn't call any of our players pieces of shit or wish injuries on them. I'm genuinely bemused by the haters. They hate players like Taberner, Banfield, Henry, Hughes etc because a; they get selected, b; they're injured or cooked, c; they're out of form. Most of time, they don't even know the player. Says a lot when after a win, they'd rather take shots at a player they hate for some irrational reason. Reminds me of Eagles supporters and Tom Swift. Not sure why some Freo supporters think they hold some moral high ground over Eagles supporters. All clubs have knobhead supporters.

I’ve regularly called for Banfield to be out of the side - but he was outstanding today - probably close to his best game in purple. Schultz’s third goal was because Banners crashed a pack with three Swans - he had no right to halve that contest.
He knew it too. He was lying on the ground in pain with two arms in the air celebrating the goal as much as Shultz was.

Problem is it’s Geelong. Bullies. Can see Fyfe starting and Erasmus sub.
Yeah but Geelong is down on personnel at the moment, they are playing 2-3 kids too and they are useless in the ruck. We'll take it up to them... Pearce and Cox will need good games though..

This is a premiership squad in 2 years. The biggest issue will be keeping the older guys (Walters, Fyfe, Pearce) fit and in form for the next 3 seasons.
Need to go all out for a gun small forward.

I met an old timer today.

He played 1 game for the pies in 53 before moving to perth and playing with Polly farmer in 56.

He was working at the family business today at circa 90yo at a guess (watching the Freo contest)…….what a legend!

If I learnt one thing from this game it is that Derm has a 2big2strong poster above his bed.

I am tempering my excitement over the forwardline given Sydney's first 3 choice KPDs weren't playing but we smashed them everywhere really so I don't think it would have mattered.

Lots of fumbles and stuff but still managed to put on 100 points in a very high pressure game. Very good signs.

Great to see further signs it’s beginning to click.
Good games from the forward guys but I think it needs to be tempered by the fact Sydney were missing their 3 first choice defenders. A bit like us without Pearce, Cox & Ryan.
Wonderful win though & some really exciting stuff- the continued rise of Jackson, Treacy finally looking like he belongs & Walker growing as one of the best lockdowns of smalls going around.

So Treacy obviously offers more speed, and defensive pressure than Taberner, but the biggest difference is his ball use after taking a mark up the ground.

It was so nice to see him move the ball on quickly and well after his screamer. If thats tabs he holds the ball up and then best case scenario kicks it 40m down the line to no one.

Yep,
I think Walker is a window into the whole team. They are super young, just because they have a bad game or final series doesn't mean they aren't going to get better and improve, sometimes very quickly. They all go at different pace but we're going to be a scary team in a few years. Fyfe stays fit and we get on a roll, it could happen even quicker than that.
