One for Richmond that never gets mentioned is winning the flag in 1920. We entered the comp in 1908 and got to a flag in only 12 years - when you compare how long it took North, Hawthorn and Footscray to even become competetive after entering in 1925, that's good. No draft, no concessions, no salary cap. University entered at the same time and were hopeless.

And lest you think we fluked an easy year just after the war, well, we did it again in 1921.

I'll also put the 1970's Tiger moustache collection up against anyone.

The mighty Roys:

- 1st Grand Final Winners of the VFL
- 1st team to go back to back
- 1st team to go back to back twice
- Only team to win the Premiership from last place
- Had highest VFL / AFL score until Geelong flogged the bears
- Greatest Winning Margin (190pts) that should never be broken

2nd Tier Trivia

- Broke the greatest winning streak (against Geelong), ironically, our captain and legend, Kevin Murray, didn't play that game as he was on All Australian Carnival duties
- One of the first two teams to wear numbers
- One of the first two teams to play for premiership points interstate
- One of only 4-teams to play every season until our merger
- Is also one of only 4-teams to feature on the most Premierships list
- Haydn Bunton the only player with more Brownlow points than games played and he missed his 4th Brownlow by less than 3 points after not getting awarded votes in a game where he featured as BOG
- Everyone sticks it to us but we have 2 players in the VFL / AFL Team of the Century including the Coach (not that he did much with Fitzroy to earn his spot ), but we've got 2 more players than Collingwood! :D
- 4 of the top 10 games record holders played with Fitzroy
- Even when faced with the wooden spoon, we never, ever, ever, ever tanked - just ask Woosher Worsfold about 1991 and Rossy Lyon! ;)

13 consecutive finals appearances must surely rank with the best acheivements in the VFL. Just goes to show how great the hawks side was in the 80s to early 90s. Other records were proud of would be:

-Tucky's games record - thats lots of state league games
-The Chief's 1254 goals 3rd best all time - excellent
-Winning the most VFL flags in the last 50 yrs.
-Having imo the greatest player to play the game in our side lethal leigh matthews - agree

ok
now we can agree

Tim you forgot to mention playing in front of the Queen.

Tim you forgot to mention playing in front of the Queen.

St Kilda do that every week! (Hello Molly! ;))

Yeah, there would be a number of ones I forgot but that was important. Remember, a lot of those trivial notes have to be shared with another team.

Another one would be the first team to play at VFL Park and kick a goal there - hello Mr Molloy! :thumbsu:

Oldest sporting club in South Australia
Most successful club in Australia
6 Premierships in a row (Australian record)
Proudest club in Australia. (yes thats right)

We had 2 players named Cox in 2001 and there were a few jokes going around then.
Best cox jokes always came when Chick was in the team. (for Dean Cox, Simon Cox and Adrian Cox).
What about Collingwood having Goldsack, Dick and Cox.

We have

Dick
Johnson
Cox
Goldsack
Wood
Thomas
Sidebottom/Brown - almost count

I'd be content for us to draft purely for penis humour for the next 10 years

Well, they hand out no trophies for this one. Nor will a Victorian-led league ever acknowledge it, but West Coast saved Aussie Rules.

The league was insolvent in the late 80s when the Eagles coughed up a more than generous fee to enter into the league and keep the expanded VFL alive.

Once in the league, the WCE taught teams how to condition and prepare atheles for matches.

Finally, sans the past couple of years in the wilderness, our club brought a level of managerial expertise that reverberates through the league today at a number of powerhouse clubs including Geelong (thanks Cookie) and Adelaide (recruiting).

So enjoy the chat about the 1950s and how mighty your team was in the 1920s but you'd be bickering over something that didn't exist today if not for the Weagles.

Mate can't agree with you more, the AFL now squanders 10's of millions on new interstate clubs instead like Western Sydney and the Gold Coast. Weagles changed the closet minded way that Victorians approached the game because you became successfull and a footy power almost immediately. That is a record to be proud of.

Most Wins - 1398
Most Finals Wins - 70
Most Finals Appearances
Most GF Appearances
Only club with a winning percentage over 60% since 1897.
Only Undefeated Home and Away Season
Only team to win 4 flags in a row
Most Leading Goalkicker winners in history

I could keep going but at risk of embarassing many clubs its time to stop.
