One shithouse game and people cant wait to sink the slipper in, richmond just need to make the 8 this year and have done plenty to suggest they will, how about people dont piddle their pants over one week?

Damn Broke my golden rule. If thread created by Lance, I dont bother to open. Gets perverse pleasure out of trolling all other clubs than Essendon.

Very very worrying for Tigers supporters. Haven't really beaten any good sides and have sort of been flat-track bullies this season. North aren't a decent side either so let's hope for their sake this doesn't have a snowball effect.
North are the best side outside the eight IMO. Brad Scott said it pretty well before the match that the two clubs were at pretty similar stages in their development. The roos were more disciplined in sticking to their structures and game plan. Scott out coached Hardwick today and they played the ground better than the tigers. Disappointing that this was not rectified but credit to the roos for a four qtr performance.

Reality check we desperately needed and I'm glad it happened now and not 6 weeks from now when we're hopefully preparing for finals. North's best is very good and they definitely brought it today against a tigers team that was lackadaisical and had zero intensity. Orren got spanked in the ruck and Maric's return can't come soon enough. Kudos to North.
Thanks mate.

I tried to locate them, but couldn't find them. Does anyone know where they are, or more particularly, where are they at?

Bigfooty needs a where are they at sub-forum for real, because it seems the ladder and "context", is just not enough to keep track of teams (especially ones Lance doesn't like), after a loss.

I'll just quote myself from the game day thread about 30 minutes before this thread was made...

Ahhh close enough.

Erase the line on North Melbourne?

Orren Stephenson - his standing in the game

Is Jack Riewoldt sullying a great career?

Richmond to slide in 2014?

Richmond - progression stagnated? Should they be worried?

This wouldn't have happened if Richmond hadn't sacked Wallace

Brave effort Richmond

Vickery - Square peg in a round hole?

Hardwick - the elephant in the room?

Heh, I could probably do this all day.

I think Richmond are going in the right direction, didn't play very well today (obviously) but they are unearthing good quality kids, and really, building a successful club is all about recruiting good quality kids and developing them well.

We have only won 6 games and our percentage is 118% odd and we have had one of the harder draws this year, people say we are disappointing only because we have blown massive leads, if we started slowly and finished strongly only lose marginally all of a sudden the opinion would be different.

You still need to be able to do a lot right to get to a decent lead at any stage of the game, we have carried too many out of form players and that has hurt us when games were in the balance late in games.

Maric was a huge loss for Richmond, Goldstein was able to dictate the run of the ball most of the time and it made it difficult for Richmond to get any type of run going. Their forward line is a bit of a disappointment, Jack tries to wrestle too much, he is ordinary when he wrestles, he is awesome when he leads. Vickery isn't taking much pressure off him, he managed to poleaxe Richmond player after Richmond player going for contests, I think he needs to work on his ability to work with his team mates around him.

I rare Ellis, Vlastuin and Conca highly. Ellis got koed accidentally and that was a big loss, Vlaustuin and Conca had poor games, as did Deledio who struggled all game. Cotchin and Martin battled on but we had a pretty deep inside midfield group this week and it was hard work for them. Houli was a big loss too, he makes good decisions and hits targets coming out of the backline.

There was just too much space on the rebound for us, if you give us the corridor on the rebound it is a death sentence, we made top 4 sides look ordinary when they do that, killed Hawthorn and Geelong through the corridor earlier in the year, Hawks at the MCG so it is not roof related :p The difference is they were able to shut the games down then force us to go wide and slow the game down, Richmond doesn't have the experience to do that yet.

I think Richmond needs to unearth another good quality forward to take pressure off Jack and give the mids another target (hopefully leading) to kick to. I think our forward line gave Richmond headaches because Petrie, Tarrant and Black aren't really superstars but there is usually someone providing a problematic matchup for the opposition. We had Hansen sit in front of Riewoldt and he ended up with 15 marks, if you become too predictable then it hurts your ability to score. Richmond ended up having to go very wide to get some shots on goal and ended up with a scoreline that is indicative of having a lot of shots from the angle.

I love the argument "they haven't beaten anyone above them". News flash if we had we'd be above them but we've beaten the teams we had to below us for are fighting fir the same lower half of the 8 spot. Today was just a really bad off day that every team can have. Richmond sit exactly where they deserve to be which is 6-8th. We aren't contenders and we never expected to be. We're still a couple years off our peak. Finals this year was always the plan even if we sneak in and get handled the first week.

The media and commentators have been pumping us up. Maybe they should take the blame for getting ahead of the selves. The club and players have been realistic along the way. You've got muppets like King and Russell sprouting top 4 and premiership just last week. Turn it up. Another Richmond troll thread in a long line for Lance.

Most important player structurally for Richmond. Without him, they are no chance against good sides with a quality ruckman, which North is.

However, the final margin is still un-acceptable even with those outs.
Yeah the margin was a result of 10 mins of weak midfield footy, 7 goals in a blink of an eye, couldn't wrestle momentum back, we missed all answering goals in the 2nd.

Plus Maric, Houli and Ellis, missed all 3 today, but that's irrelevant I suppose.

Regardless of who's out (btw those 3 in no way make this a close game), makes no difference if the 22 out there don't show up. Cotchin and Foley the only two who gave 4 quarter efforts from the much vaunted tiger midfield unit

collingwood beat geelong by 80 in 2008, who other than the grand final won everything else
last year we spanked the grand finalists by around 100 points combined
geelong gave up 50 points in half an hour to brisbane
etc etc etc....

point is, this stuff happens......if it happens every week for the rest of the year, then ill be worried.

I would of said this wouldn't make the top 10 of Richmond's most pathetic performances in recent years. That doesn't say that much about what they were like today (though they were awful), more about what they've been for the last two decades. Failure has contaminated that club like no other.
*ahem*
