Absolutely. Sunday was the first game he got open and run and kicked long. The kicking style was so similar.

nah, not really. Hawkins was just plain good at everything and his footy IQ was extremely high. A 6ft Bontempelli with more agility and speed.

My favourite thing about him is that he is constantly getting stuck into opposition players, is always the first one to fly the flag in defense of a team mate and help them up off the ground. Seems like he is going to be a terrific clubman on top of being a gun player. You just get a sense that he is a quality young man.

By the end of 2021 he will be rated more highly than Sam Walsh. He just has that little bit of burst speed that sets him apart. That goal against Freo shows he has a high workrate, especially for a first year player coming off an interrupted pre-season.

By rumour we were really into him months out. I think we can see why.
