Not sure where the bigger arrogance is lying here. The MC losing more midfield players and bringing none in or CE thinking the changes and emergencies are spot on and those disagreeing have 'feelpinions'...

Good thing we're only playing Richmond.

Desperation is acting like 26 & 27 year old state league players are the key to turning things around.

You can call the selections boring, expected, and even safe...they're the furthest thing from desperate.

Am I the only one that gets the feeling that if we went searching threads from a few years ago - 19,20, 21 and had a look at comments after team selection announcements, that we'd be reading very very similar comments about a then young Constable that we're currently reading about Hardie?

I'd be surprised if he didn't get a game as some stage before the end of the season, but just maybe the complete lack of noise about him from the club is an indication that there's something about his game which is currently holding him back from senior selection

And in response to that, I'd hope there's clear communication from the coaches about what he's doing well, areas that stand at the level they'd want and steps to help with that improvement etc

I bough GA standing room tix a month ago surely can’t be denied entry..?

They havent sold standing room tickets for this game at all according to the people i spoke to at the club yesterday and today. Did you claim a GA entry via your membership on the app? If so that might have been revoked, as that was what happened to myself and a few mates earlier this week that started this shambles. They changed the designation to fully ticketed and revoked all the GA tickets that were claimed on the app, now you have to upgrade to a seat via ticketmaster. Standing room only became available to claim today via the app.

I don't think the annoyance has anything to do with Hardie. The balance of the team looks off with so few midfielders and so many tall forwards

Concern is the midfield again obviously but I assume they'll give Bowes a full game this week to offset the two guys coming out.

Can't get beaten in the midfield if we slowly week by week remove it entirely.

I really want humphries to get a game. The team balance is poor. Those odds for the Tigers are looking better by the minute unfortunately

Humphries would be a great one to see

Could easily see value in a straight swap between him & Mullin, and give Mullin genuine midfield time in the VFL - he didn't look totally out of place there against Port, but in the VFL he could work on the offensive side of a midfielders game without the total focus on stopping his opponent

No new blood, business as usual. If it ain't broke?...
I am extremely disappointed that they didn't reward any of the VFL players given the woeful performance of the AFL team over the last month.

Frankly I am totally uninspired by the current team and the way they are playing. Smashed in the middle, everyone else suffers. I can't see this changing when the same old underperforming players are rolled out week after week as the losses pile up.

It sends a signal to the VFL boys not to get their hopes up. If Chris Scott and the MC didn't promote anyone for this match there is no chance of it happening in the foreseeable future. We have several games after this one against superior opposition.

It just doesnt look off, it is off. So much so that it cost us a game last week...And then we made Bowes the sub to make it worse. And then...Conway goes off, Blicavs goes into the ruck and Bowes comes on and suddenly...Wow! we look completely different, shame it only happened 10 mins into the 4th.

Having tonnes of tall forwards doesnt do much if we a) play the best one on the wing, and b) cant win the ball in the midfield to get it to those forwards.

At this point, we are over reliant on our fitness and managing minutes in games to run over teams. This has not worked and will not work against good teams.

Disagree. I'm not a fan of a forwardline containing Hawkins, Cameron, Henry, Rohan and Neale.

Agree. Team balance is poor. At least they didn't bring in Parfitt I guess
Parfitt is the next most logical.

It's a strategy alright, just not sure it's a great one. :drunk:

We looked ultra-light a month ago coming into the Port game and if anything have thinned it out even more since. There's obviously a method to the madness but the backline losing the spring they had in the first two months hasn't helped.

Early team report from 7:

Ins: Rohan & O'Connor

Outs: Blicavs (sus), Clark (sus)

No mention of Hardie on the news

I think they are good changes

Gary Rohan when he is fit , i allways like him in the Geelong senior side , and this weekend there are the 4 talls JC TH OH and GR , with the 3 crummers , so that is a good combination

And as much as i would not have minded Hardie getting a game , i think OConnor is a reasonable footballer and should be picked ahead of him , i reckon OConnor was unlucky to be out of the senior side in the 1st place , hes normally a consistent player

Im just so glad they didnt revert back to Parfitt , and you have to keep an eye on the big picture , if Geel somehow get their mojo back and qualify for the finals , you cant go into a big final at the MCG with Parfitt in the midfield , you just cant

Yeah, but some will never learn. We've done this rodeo a dozen times already.

It won't stop the exaggeration that the MC or Scott hate Hardie, because that's far more interesting than just acknowledging he's not an AFL standard footballer for some reason.

We now cut to Chris Scott for his thoughts on Mitch Hardie
