Symes is tearing up the SANFL like he has never done before.people have short memories regarding symes. he's a good sanfl player but cant cut it at AFL level.
For that effort, he deserves his chance to prove us wrong again.

Look I don't necessarily disagree with that. It's been a strange old year though when you consider maric, Reilly , Armstrong etc....were prob in same basket as symes....cards marked.
Who can say for sure he won't step up as well

What is it exactly that people expect Symes to do that is different to what he's already done? He will run around collecting a heap of cheap touches but at the end of the day will be largely irrelevant to the outcome. He won't be bad, he's shown that he can play to an adequate level in the AFL and is probably good as an emergency. We are currently 2nd on the ladder, with a good chance of moving into first place this weekend and a legitimate chance of making a Grand Final, we can't go round giving average 27 year old footballers a spot in the side for the off chance that they might suddenly turn into superstars. We have plenty of blokes waiting for a spot who offer similar or more than Symes and have far greater futures. I respect the bloke, he's been able to make a pretty decent career out of limited talent, but I would like to think that as a club we've moved beyond requiring the Brad Symes of this world, especially when we've pretty much got a full squad to choose from.
Just as long as thge roof is SHUT.
I think the way the game has changed (our game style in particular) with more contested ball, higher pressure, longer kicking and less pin point passing could suit Brad. If Sloane or Danger pull out he fully deserves a game. If Lyons was fit i would play him. But he has a foot problem so Symes it is. Good move having Brad fly around the country to be emergency several times this year and not robbing one of our young guns of a game every weekend.

well did you see how the doggies used clay smith as sub today? perhaps it was because he was fresh and interested in the game whereas everyone else had lost interest. nahh nothing to do with him playing for his spot in the team when others already knew they have secure spots in the team. mind you he had no affect on the end result either, just like christensen. everyone else was disinterested.Agree with most except, Goodes was having an absolute shocker and was right to be subbed off in his own right
Douglas is already pretty much a lock selection. It's highly unlikely that Symes will be, unless our injury list suddenly expands. The thing that worries me most about the Kangaroos game is that they might be ordinary, we win easily and Douglas and Symes dominate and become lock selections for the season
Chris Knights BOG for Eagles against Port. Almost 40 possesions. Has to be recalled to the Crows this week and given a full game, not sub. Johncock, 10 kicks only...Douglas is already pretty much a lock selection. It's highly unlikely that Symes will be, unless our injury list suddenly expands.
Wow...
Christensen was so good that he was all out of puff when crunch time arrived with two minutes to go. Everitt for Goodes would have been considered a dismal failure had he not marked and goaled - it was clear Longmire thought he could 'rest' Goodes while five goals ahead and not feel any ill effects.
More often than not, the success of a sub on any given day comes down to luck rather than smart selection, given how difficult it is too get into a game when you've only got 20mins left.
I don't think Sando can be blamed for not picking the absolute perfect sub every week given our strong and healthy list, and a need to squeeze one player out to 22nd man.
Completely agree with this however as said before in this post we need to be smarter about our contested work. Instead of all of our players going in I would like perhaps 2 going in and the others wait for them to get it out, knowing we usually win these contests instead of the opposition getting cheap easy clearances. This is probably why our goals seem so difficult n the other teams looks quite easy. Perhaps Mackay should start focusing on the outside work again a bit more?[/quote
Also agree....I can't figure out if we are our own worst enemy with our clearance movements. In terms of quick movement from the contest to outside players I have a vague feeling we have lost something here. Just reckon for all our current hard work inside we have less outside fluency. So many more short scrubby kicks from inside the crush? I'm hoping it is still a work in progress.
Chris Knights BOG today, has to be recalled next week. If Sando doesn't then he truly is a douchebag
I'm going to go out on a limb and call troll account.Chris Knights BOG today, has to be recalled next week. If Sando doesn't then he truly is a douchebag

Danger loves the roof closed! But why is it? No rain/wind? Crowd sounds louder?
It is called the Danger Dome.
James I respect your posting so don't take this as a smart arse response, but honestly what did you expect from Ivan or Reilly this year ....to be AA at the half way mark. For AFC to be 9-2. For Armstrong to slot seamlessly into a top defence. All I'm saying is there are a lot of indicators that a number of players with cards marked in our old regime have subsequently blossomed.
just out of curiosity who is flying over as the emergency> symes? No I'd say he and the selection committee are correctly judging the players on their merits and understand that the players in the side that are in Knights' role are performing at a level that Knights is at this time not capable of.
When you are sitting where the Crows are on the ladder you don't bring in unproven players like Knights unless the players in his position are underperforming.
As for what you called our coach, I'd suggest that given your posting it is a more accurate description of yourself and you should stop projecting.
he has had a couple of good games, hence his recall last weekWhat a stupid thing to say. Knights has had one great game in how long?
hey im a crows supporter anyway, sando's allright just wish the guy hadnt had spent so much time at geelong thats all...he will come good, its his first year and all. hope he give knights another chance. knights can get 100DT points easily if he had a full gameI'm going to go out on a limb and call troll account.
Boak's leaving and you don't have any other good players, sucked in.
WTF? Are you serious, spent to much time at Geelong? Are you on this planet?sando's allright just wish the guy hadnt had spent so much time at geelong thats all...he will come good, its his first year and all.
