Player Watch Rookie Pick #45 (2015) - Dan Houston

It would take a miracle for port to lose one of our best players (Houston) and our 2nd best kf (Todd) and win a gf next year.

We’re going backwards losing them even if we gain say Perryman and Richard’s.

As it is I think just to make the top 8 will take a massive effort and a lot of luck without Todd and Dan playing next year.
Todd? He did nothing all year ...

It would be amusing if Houston goes and next season, Port somehow wins a flag. He'll be the next Nick Stevens. ;)

Especially if he ends up at North.

that's not why he's going

We're at the point where we probably want this deal to go through. He's a gun but we're very deep in his position and are apparently going to add Perryman. The draft capital could be spent to go and get players that will make more of a difference to our list.

No concerns at all if he ends up staying but if he wants to go, we become pretty major players in the trade market.

lol, once he went out we might as well been kicking the ball off a cliff into the ocean. We lost all ability to find targets in the forward half.

But yeah, you stick to the “Todd is shit” line long past evidence otherwise

If he’s out next year and we don’t land luko as a replacement, we’re going to be much worse off. This isn’t my opinion, we saw it play out for weeks.

Any players we get in are almost certainly not going to make up the gap in what we’re losing here.

That doesn’t mean we don’t do a trade, if he wants out and there’s viable trades available we do it because we might as well get the best deal we can for him once he’s asked to go.

As long as we get two first round picks.

Have had some knowledge on this situation from the start, a family member installs pools, Dan was going through there company to get an in ground put in, hole was dug and everything ready to go when Dan pulled the pin and asked if the whole could be filled back in 'change of mind'. He's 100% out the door or just realised the MG centre has everything he needs and more

If there was a hole in the ground he should have put Ken in it before it got filled in.

Pies to pay the Perryman (new favourites).

12 of the first 13 goals came from turnovers against Sydney, not saying we would've won the game but that would not of happened if Houston and to a lesser extent Farrell had of played.
Houston's contracted, I hope he stays.

Especially if he ends up at North.

North getting someone good and just missing out on finals next year would be as surprising as Dusty heading to GC

Nah, there were a few bad turnovers (Boak and Burto most obvious) but a lot of the turnovers were Sydney's defenders picking off out inside 50s with ease as Rat and Dixon were completely immobile and even when they did make it to the marking contests had very little impact and still either conceded a mark, or Sydney collected the crumb and rebounded straight out.
