why dont you two just get msn?
I'm surprised as Eagles supporter hasn't trolled this thread yet
Off topic!!! Ert is getting angry at me and Nat!!!
Who wants the three ruckman rotation? I do!!!
Even though doyle hasn't played much senior games this year, he's got alot of potential. he can be a good forward too (if he can kick goals from point blank range) along with Everitt. Jolly is always dominanting in the ruck (as long as its not Cox) then we're fine!
As for Benny... i feel sorry for him. He's a good player and all, but there are players who play better than him at the moment. Like what someone said on this thread... I don't think the coaches would leave him out.
Doyle can't kick for crap. Remember the PF? That was the funniest moment of the game. I felt so sorry for him.

Me! Its the next evolution of the gameplan. Something Roos wanted implemented at the start but has unable to get three fit quality ruckmen.
Doyle was a great kick at goal in his early years, with a good preseason under his belt I am confident he will be back to that.
Well I think we have run three ruckmen before - Ball, Doyle and Jolly have all been on the park before and in Eade's time I think we had Staff will Doyle and Ball (3 over 200cm!). It's not out of the ball park and with one on the pine I think Doyle and Everitt could kick 60 between them and it would prolong Jolly and Everitt as Spida has been injury prone and Jolly has been battling a bit on his own for the past year.
I alos think Roosy will stir it up by giving some younger guys a chance so I reckon Schmidt is a chance. Also for those who reckon Phillips wills truggle for a game - well he played as a midget last year so he won't be any smaller this year and having been elevated to the list he has support of the coaching staff that if he is up to it form wise, he will be in with a shot.
He won't give them a game if everyone is fit. He has made it very clear that they are aiming for another premiership, he wants that before our older guys in Kirk, Barry, Hall and O'Loughlin retire.
I don't think Schmidt or Phillips will get a game next year.
As we were aiming for a premiership last year how did Malceski, Grundy, Vogels, Phillips, Schmidt get a game.
Last time I looked Westy Coast turned over a significant number of their 2005 side to win in 2006. He who stands still gets passed by.
Well, you're right. But i'm hoping for starters we don't have any mid season retirements, season ending injuries or anymore Nick Davis' type issues.
I just can't see Phillips or Schmidt getting a game. Grundy, sure.. Vogels, maybe.. Bevan, yes, Dempster and Doyle (if not in the initial best 22) yes. Not Phillips or Schmidt though.
So our mid field and on ballers can relax - barring injury they are all getting a game whilst the talls need to be on guard because Grundy and Vogels are coming hard.
I also forgot to mention that R1 2006 we also found a spot for Chambers and Richards - so there will be new bloods next year - happens to every team and hopefully ours will be up to it.
I also recall years ago a young guy called Goodes who played nothing but twos for his first year - glad they made room for him! Your list needs to turn over - everyone in last years team replaced someone else at some stage - life goes on.
I'm saying if we get injuries they will be the first selected, not Phillips or Schmidt.
No-one is likely to claim that Phillips or Schmidt will start the season as "best 22" players. It's unlikely that either will end the season as best 22 players either.
But if we get injuries to the likes of Bolton (Jude), Ablett, Buchanan, Schneider, surely Schmidt, Phillips (and Moore, possibly Simpkin, O'Keefe) are more likely replacements than Grundy or Vogels? Bevan would also be in the mix.
Schmidt and Phillips wouldn't be on the senior list if the club didn't think they were capable of getting senior games in 2007. Schmidt would have been cut. Phillips might have survived on the rookie list but wouldn't have been promoted.

Only thing, are we willing to sacrifice that midfield rotation?? Rooooooooos works the bench very well with that fosdike/kirk/jude/ablett/buchanan rotation.... dont u see jude & ablett, wen they come off the ground, they're absolutely buggered!! 3 ruckmen will mean less rest for them.
Let me start by saying, i dont mind 3 ruckmen in the game at all... our doyle/jolly combo + goodes & richards on the ground is basically like having 3 ruckman.. kinda! =) heheh but back to it, sounds cool cos ive watched jolly & especially spida kick handy goals in the past & having him mostly in the fwd 50 arc would be good - a matchup headache for opposition defenders to say the least (& to stop that double teaming of bazz).

Thats the pros and cons i mentioned a few pages back. We'd have to sacrifice another player in order to allow the 3 ruckman rotation plan. Its hard, but i think the three ruckman rotation could work. But everyone (almost everyone) is playing pretty good and it'll hurt to drop someone whos in form. But we've got Roos.. he's got something up his sleeve!
Rotate the players in and out of the forward line as well as the bench....
A player goes into the midfield, then to the forward line, then to the bench ... then the process continues.
then this may leave the coaching staff concentrating on the matchups & "next to go (to the bench)" instead of the gameplay?? BUT ANYWAYS!!!! 3 ruckmen it is! heheheheheh
