Decent quarter. The thing I liked the most was that we were able to kick goals and be dangerous even when Lewis was off the ground.

Similar to last season at HT, Essendon slightly ahead. Hopefully we don't come out with a spoon worthy second half again.

Sicily had had his worst game in years. Surely that can't continue in the second half?

On the plus side our forward structure is working and looks dangerous. Senior players need to stop missing set shots.

You can see there are a few teething problems, like Ginni running into Lewis’s lead. But I think, inaccuracy aside, our forwardline looks much more dangerous especially considering a few players have been quiet.

• Reeves is having an awesome game in the ruck, some really decisive ruck work.
• We've looked good coming out of defence - Ambrosio, Amon, Weddle all doing their thing well
• Sicily has been completely taken out of the game. Would be good to see him lift and fewer easy goals to Stringer etc.

Umpires have been best on for ESS. Can’t even pay the obvious over the shoulder tackles which are happening frequently.

I think we just need to be smarter switch Weddle and Amon earlier we look great when they are linking up with Impey.

When they are caught deep not so much.

Thank goodness Hardwick is back we need his leadership. Frost has been solid. Sicily and Scrimshaw unsighted 3&4 touches essendon doing a good job with them.
