Carn Tex! Lead from the front you beautiful bastard

Such an epic photo.

Boy I am that pumped, that I can't even sleep and I have an early flight over tomorrow for the game! :(

But anyways, so pumped to see the likes of Gov, Atkins, Milera and the Crouch Bros out there.

Interesting to see how our defence goes as well. Pykey has made he decision to go with Cheney, which caught a lot of us by surprise, and is something a lot don't seem to agree with. But hey, he's the head honcho, so we have to back him in now and see what unfolds. It's an extremely ballsy move, something we haven't seen in the coaches box for a while imo.

Am I just being biased or are we a serious, serious chance to run away with this? The bookies think we have little chance of winning, but everytime I look at our front 6, and look at their back 6 I can't help but think we will just be too good going forward.

I'm nervous as **** and I'm not even playing!

Finally the Crouch bros will play their first ever full game together. The other time they played Matt was the sub.

I have both in my ultimate footy team and am playing against my best mate who is coming over with me to the game.

I'm looking forward to making sure he knows when the crouches get their hands on it ;)

Round 1: North Melbourne v Adelaide
I watched that game on fox this afternoon. Douglas was our best for mine. Kept us in it all day.

Edit: just checked the stats. Dougie had 28 touches, 2 goals and 10 inside 50's that day. Didn't get a Brownlow vote though! No prizes for guessing who got the 3 votes, and didn't have half the influence that Dougie had.

Job security

Low. As for his position, he's seen as a genuine utility, so could play anywhere. Most likely on the wing though.

Great to see all the new boys in team especially Milera ( most exciting first year player I have seen at club ) and Seedsman to get some outside run.
But even greater than all of that is to see the Brad back in team as think he can be as good as that bloke that left ,if not better , come on Brad lets put 18 straight games mate no injuries or other crap.
Still bemused how they are the hot favourites.
Boy with our tough draw we need this one.

We're definitely a decent chance, although I don't think our forward line is at its best. Milera is more of a natural wingman/mid but is handy anywhere and McGovern (I'm happy is playing) could easily return to Nab 1 & 2 form. I would love to see us play McGovern behind the ball at times today late in quarters or when/if North get a run on.

I think we're really missing 1 or 2 of Cameron, Knight, Menzel.

Tex clearly should have got the 3 votes, but I'm sure they would have given it to Dangerfield. The brownlow is a joke.

Just on McGovern and NAB cup 2, Mitch slightly rolled his ankle fairly early, was rested a bit and was playing more tentatively than usual for the rest of that game. For what I believe to be the real Mitch and hopefully what we will see in tonight's blockbuster where North rightfully go in as the favorites is the NAB R3 Mitch McGovern.

Yeah true, I think that happened in the first quarter.

Wooooo! Game day is here! Finally, the real football stuff begins. Even so, 6:55pm tonight seems so far away right now. Can someone knock me out, and wake me up once it gets underway? Excited to see how we go tonight, especially the newbies in Milera, McGovern & Seedsman and how they fit in with the old guard.
