And thus, with 1 small rumour....the 2010 whipping boy was born!

Call it a rumour if you want, I know what I saw and heard, I was sitting right next to the bench.

I'm not saying he is the new whipping boy, I was merely commenting on 1 game and 1 incident. That said, we do need a new one now that Stevens is gone.

I would be seriously disappointed if Anderson is included.

He deserves a gig, perhaps. But (fitness withstanding) players like Armfield, Grigg, Lucas, Garlett and probably more deserve a spot in the 22 based on match form, and the training form (that I've seen).

I actually think the Tigers have a 40% chance against us. We sort of have a new team and new strategy and a very new forward line.
I have looked into this and I think 37.3% tops. And if Armfield plays it drops to 34.65%
No way does Anderson deserve a gig ahead of Army Lucas Robbo Grigg

Armfield would be comfortably ahead of Anderson if he had a better preparation. Minimal game time in the VFL, returning from a hamstring injury is not the ideal preparation for Round 1 (see Ben Cousins, circa 2009).

If Anderson is selected, it will be on the basis of being given a specific stopping role (as stated by goreds), something he has done well previously. Neither Grigg, Lucas or Garlett would be capable of filling the same role as Anderson. The fact he has been given so much game time during the pre-season makes it clear the coaching panel wanted him in the Round 1 team in Armfield's absence.

what did juddy have to say?

He had just given Juddy a dodgy hand ball at his feet, and he got buried. So he was having a spray that he no only did he choose the wrong option cos he had a player open in the middle, but he also forgot to shepherd after disposing, hence Judd getting hammered.

That incident aside, he was absolutely horrible all day, I don't remember him doing 1 thing right. But it's probably the first time I've taken any notice in him also, so can't comment on what he's capable of.

Were you talking about Joey or Goreds J?

Tigris thinks Joey - I thought you meant Goreds for his rumour

I think Grigg could easily fill the role that Anderson is set to play, should that role be that of a 'stopper'. Grigg is no less proven in this role – and is certainly a more seasoned player than Anderson.

If the role is to try and negate one of Riewoldt or Morton, I would much prefer Grigg to oppose one of the two than Anderson.

I would much prefer that.

If it were for smaller players, such as King or perhaps Deledio across half forward, again, I would somewhat prefer Grigg to take these roles.

I’m not sure who Anderson has done well on – no ‘marquee’ type performances like Gibbs on Goodes / Joseph on Ablett spring to mind.

Grigg strikes me as physically better conditioned, mentally tougher, and nearly achieves athletic parity.

Think that's right. The Deledio on Gibbs experiment was a massive fail and it makes no sense repeating the same mistake. I don't think Gibbs is losing any sleep having Jackson as an opponent though. He's just such a hard player to tag because he is very clever, evasive and skillful. He knows all the tricks the taggers do, and knows what they're going to do before they do it.

:)

you are an absolute woofta parrot,**** off back into your cage and lets see whos still talking so much shit come friday morning

If goreds' info is correct, I can see Anderson playing on one of Richmond's smaller quicks, a role that Grigg would not be able to fulfil as Anderson is quicker than Grigg (it has been quite obvious in the pre-season games that Anderson has been filling the role normally played by Armfield). He would certainly not be playing on a Riewoldt or Morton.

So Cousins is trying to use his media profile to pressure Richmond into playing him. Well I guess when you're in as dire a financial position as he is you need every match payment you can get. If the Tigers haven't learnt from the mistakes they made playing or rushing back underdone players last year then it's time for the fans to riot again.
