Heard something that Vardy isn't traveling to well either. Sounds like us a few years back.
Sewell is a bit of a pre-season barometer for us.

Remember 2009? Started off breaking his collarbone in a practice match - finished the year with Lloyd caving in his head.

Luckily he's had the perfect pre-season so far and if that solitary interview on 360 is anything to go by, he's pretty hungry.

The problem with Hill is that he just does not get the ball, he struggles with reading the play , its no good having a guy in the side who only touches it a few times a game. If he can start finding the ball in good numbers at box hill then he can be looked at for the seniors , as he has all the skills and speed to be a great players.

Couldn't disagree more with this. Brad Hill found space easily last year when given an opportunity. Admittedley he was usually coming on in the last quarter when everyone else was spent, but from my point of view he knew were to run and found space at will. We didn't always see him that space, but it's not just Hill that we ignore in that instance either.

Only reason he 'only touches it a few times a game' is because he only played one quarter most of the time.

Personally, I'd love to see Hill or even young Jed on the opposite wing to Isaac.

What do you guys think?

I think you're spot on. Maybe include Bailey and Hill into the mix, assuming Hodge is not a chance.

Pretty much nailed it. The Sub maybe Puopolo perhaps?

No room for Stratts?
Thinking Stratts to half back, Suckling to wing and Hill to Bench. Simpkin to sub.
I think Bailey is a red hot chance to play. Hale and Roughie were smashed in the centre square last night. If he comes in then obviously someone will have to go out. Still not sure how they will set up in the ruck!!

I really like the idea of playing Suckling on the wing on the same side as Birchall (at HBF).

We like to run it out through Birch which will suit us perfectly as Sucko's man will either have to stay with & defend him (Sucko), allowing Birch free run, or leave him & shut Birch down, leaving Sucko free on the wing.

He looks fitter & quicker does Suckling - I hope he's a little tougher & in for a big one.

FF: Rioli Gunston Lewis
Ru: Hale Sewell Shiels
IC: Stratton Savage Simpkin
Sub: Popeye (if fit) or Hill

The more mobile targets we have between 30m-60m, the better I think we'll be, as opposed to static targets in the goal square.
Geelong's defence, with Taylor, Mackie, Rivers (& Pods) are going to want to stand & wrestle or fly over the pack & mark or kill the high ball - & they'll kill us at both. Conversely, we're going to need muscle & size to cover their big forwards & resting ruckmen.

* Rough & Schoey are going to have to swing about from time to time so that Roughy can get some time resting on the pine & getting a rub down instead of being plonked at FF & being mauled or having guys run off him.

** Oh, and if it doesn't work, change it & go man-on-man before we're 8 goals down.........

The Cats defense will get killed when the ball hits the deck. Our small forwards Breust, Rioli and Puopolo will feast on the loose ball and plus none one of Taylor, Lonergan, Rivers or Mackie can match Franklin at ground level anyway. I'm confident our forwards will get the better of the Cats defense. We just need to be smart with our delivery inside 50 and not bomb the ball up high up in the air giving the Cats defense a chance to mark it.

R: Bailey - Sewell - Lewis

EMG: Savage - Hale - Duryea

Depth: Cheney - Ellis - Anderson - Lowden - Osborne - Litherland - Simpkin

I'm not sure whether Hale or Bailey (or Lowden for that matter) will be in the ruck but I can only see us playing two of Bailey, Gunston and Hale

If any of Hodge/Burgoyne/Shiels aren't read then Savage/Duryea/Ellis to come in (in that order). I'm not sold on Simpkin. I don't see the point in playing accumulators that have poor disposal and aren't very good clearance players.

Article in todays Sun says that Cats rookie Blicavs may go into the game as number 1 ruck due to the injuries to West, Vardy,McIntosh. If this is the case & whilst they have definetly Kelly, S.Johnson & maybe Chapman out due to quad injury yesterday we must dominate the midfield battle & give our superior forward line good delivery.

Given the injury clouds over Hodge, Burgoyne & maybe Shiels ill put them in for now but with *

My Team FB- Guerra Lake Gibson
HB- Stratton Schoenmakers Birchall
C- Suckling Mitchell Smith
HF- Rioli Franklin Hodge*
FF- Bruest Roughead Puopolo
FOLL- Hale Sewell Lewis
Int- Shiels*, Burgoyne*, Gunston Sub Savage

If Hodge doesnt play Simpkin plays. Burgoyne or Shiels doesnt play then Hill plays.
Confident that squad is more than good enough to knock the Cats over and finally end this bloody nightmare.
