hrrmmm what went wrong with you ? :D

Ha ha ha! :p

Yes, when I was a kid in the 80's Dad would take me to Saints/Tigers games and I'd watch us get smashed. Character building stuff... :(

The worm has turned in recent years our way but I have always been proud to say Richmond are my "second" team.:thumbsu:

My Gran was a Saints supporter - guess she must have had an influence.

It's not a ticketed game. If you've purchased ticket then they have to let you in. It's just Saints GA members that need to be careful & make sure they dont miss out.

Cheers ! Thanks for that. This game should be at the mcg.. Would have got at least 60k.

Ahh ok.. I've had my fair share of "character bulding" thrashings too.

:)

How about pre purchased unreserved GA tickets? If it is a sellout any chance I will get knocked back if I arrive early?

That's what I'd like to know.

Planning on going with Richmond supporting friends, if they purchase GA tickets via ticketmaster will they possibly be knocked back?

Do we all have to upgrade?

True I understand the saints home game and all but we always seem to play them there. Be interesting to see the split over the last 10 years. I'm tipping there's been a few more games under the roof.

By my understanding if they have paid for a ticket they must get let in, and those tickets will be subtracted from the total amount they can sell on gameday.

So yeah, they'll get in but if you only have a GA membership you'll need to get there early cos you're not guaranteed entry. So we don't have to upgrade (like for an Essendon game) but we do have to get there early.

Confusing, but I hope that makes sense.

I've never seen so many "intruders" on our Board!

Firstly, let me preface by saying I've only seen 1/2 a Richmond game in the last 2 years (When Goddard took that screamer). There is an enormous amount of Richmond bias in here, Tigers supporters coming across as cocky, and Saints supporters being overly fearful!

The Tiges haven't beaten us since 2003, we are playing at Etihad under a finals-type atmosphere...surely we'll win comfortably, won't we?

Let them be confident. I watched them play Hawthorn and trust me when I say, GWS would have put more pressure on the ball carrier. Sure they played well but we won't allow them the time and space they had against Hawthorn. I badly want us to win and win well.

Well the last match was a nil all draw so this one may be interesting...

Just on this, with non ticketed games as I have a GA membership.

I've walked in no problem against the gate for teams like Essendon & Carlton, so since this is not ticketed atm see no problems doing the same, the reason being gates open 2 & a bit hours before the game, so I get there then, find a spot and park my arse so yes, being early is a prerequisite for going against the gate.

But me, I'm going with a group this time so I have tickets in level 1 as a fall back. :D

If any of you did want to upgrade your membership to a reserved seat, it will cost you $18 to sit on level 1 or $31 to sit on level 2 if you purchase it on the night. Sometimes there are premium level 3 seats and they will cost $12. If you book via Ticketmaster, there will also be a booking fee.

Unless you're happy to stand, definitely get to the game early.

This game should be a beauty. Our form in the past 3 weeks has been much better and Friday night will give us an opportunity to make a statement on the big stage.

The Tigers are playing pretty good footy

The fact they haven't beaten us since 2003 means squat this Friday night. I doubt either team would be half the same as it was then

The fact they are playing on our patch is far more relevant, and we should play the Dome much better than Richmond

Doesn't mean it will be a comfortable win, however, if we play to our potential then we should win. Even if Richmond play to theirs

Your first point is a good one. Mentioned this on another thread, but of the 40 players on our 2009 list, only 17 remain (and 4-5 of them are likely to be moved on at years end). No sure what the Saints figure is, but as an outsider it seems your list has changed a fair bit too in recent years.

Agree on Etihad, both our fans and our players seem to hate the joint. I'd be a lot more hopeful of a win if it was at the G, but you guys love Eithad, we hate it.........a big disadvantage for our boys to overcome.

Have to laugh at the Tuggers board, JunktimeJack kicked 4 of his 6 when they were 40 points up.

Simpkin to wrap up the other (non leading) Riewoldt, Fish or Gwilt zoning off Miller/Vickery/ other random hack forward to come over the top.

Ray to Deledio, Jones to Cotchin, Gilbert to Nahas.

Might need to address Martin, in the first half.

That takes care of all their goalkickers.

Easy as that? I think you must have missed the fact that Jack was leading and jumping for the first time in a while, he also gets a lot of goal assists lately, if you dont put your best defender on him he will cut you to pieces

Should be a good game, if we play the way we have over this season it will be the Tigers in a close one, if we get slightly ahead of ourselves the Saints will teach us a lesson, my biggest concern is ES and its lack of width, which will help the Saints contain our run of the half back.

Well it is the supporters showing the confidence has no bearing on either team really, if you had watched us all season and seen our playing style against top eight teams you would understand why we supporters are getting confident, the Hawthorn win was no flash in the pan, just a culmination of 9 weeks hard work.

I like the fact that I heard on one of the footy shows on TV last night that Richmond like to handball a lot across half back, or in the backline. We absolutely LOVE playing teams that do that, generally, as it gives us lots of chances to pressure and tackle and that is even more likely now that Saad is there, putting on up to 11 tackles a game, in and around our forward line.

Sydney were extremely handball-happy last week and once we realised that and put massive pressure on them, they fell to pieces and their handballs started going all over the place.

Fisher out for another 1-2 weeks!!!!

Updated 29/05/12
Sam Fisher - Hamstring - 1-2 weeks
Jimmy Webster - Shin - 2-3 weeks
Ben McEvoy - Knee - 2-3 weeks
Rhys Stanley - Hamstring - 4-5 weeks
Jarryn Geary - Orbital fracture - TBC

Your biggest scalps are Sydney and Hawthorn, ours are Sydney and Carlton. When you have knocked off a current top 4 team or handed out a 100-point belting you'll have the right to presume your best can beat ours but up to now the Tigers have proven nothing.

Confidence is fine. Over confidence is annoying. A lot of it on your team's board.

Yea I saw that too and it reminded me of 'Saints footy' of a few years back where the term 'forward pressure' was coined (soon to be replicated by the Pies). Basically in involves putting maximum pressure on an opponent even on handballs and short kicks by swarming them and forcing turnovers.

In AFL more goals are usually scored by turnovers than by set plays and those who can score off a fast rebound from a forward pressure turnover will benefit the most.

After watching the Saints play many years I always wished we had more mids that could go forward and score (and to also score quickly off the rebound). We have that talent on the field now. So we have a strenghthened backline, quick mids who can go forward and score and now the added 'forward pressure'. Looks like a great combo to me!

Richmond supporters have every right to be confident as their team is playing well but so are we. I guess because we have been a top team for a while our recent revival under Watters isn't a big story whereas Richmond has been down for a long time so their revival is a big story and creating a lot of hype. Happy for us to slip under the radar though.

I think it will be a close game but with it being our home game at Etihad it should tip the result in our favour. I think we can put Richmond under more pressure there than what they faced against the Hawks at the MCG. The key to our wins against Carlton and Sydney was our intensity and pressure for the whole 4 quarters, they could withstand it for a quarter or a half but we eventually broke them and overran them.

If we can play 4 quarters on Friday night with that same intensity and pressure we showed in those other two wins and take our opportunities we should win.

Just remember general admin memberships are subject to capacity so if it does sell out you won't be able to walk up on Gameday.

So glad I bought mine yesterday.

Simpkin will go to Riewoldt, by the way. And that won't be as easy for Jack as you lot would think.

I wonder if Fisher has had a setback in his recovery like Schneider or they are just being cautious with him?

Would have been good to have him back this week but we have shown we can cover for him OK in defence so probably no need to take any chances by rushing him back. We also have the Gold Coast game interstate next week which we should be able to win without him so maybe they have chosen to give him another two weeks rest and target the Adelaide game for a comeback.

Just noticed this morning their was open training advertised on Saints website for Thursday, as there is day before every game. BUT now they have changed their mind and its closed sessions all week and no open training on Thursday!! Last time they changed their mind was when Ben McEvoy was injured.... Wonder what they are trying to hide

Hi all , as a mad tiger man and a very proud one at the moment i think you guys have the edge over us and will more than likely win, our best chance is big ivan having a night out, as per usuall i expect milne to kill us again, but hoping morris will play him tight, good luck friday night and im sure it will be a great game
