He's actually been pretty good for a few weeks, had a poor 30s to end the half but been good otherwise.
Had a poor last 30 sec as you said. But he's trying hard and competing. With Stanley out long-term, we would have to be rucking Blitz and that means robbing us of another mid - we can't afford that right now. It also puts Blitz at higher risk of getting injured. We need Cegs right now and he's doing a job for us in difficult circumstances.

We still have too many injuries. Get Danger, Guthrie and Duncan back and we can drop the likes Parfeet, Bruhn, and Ratagalouie. They need to learn in the VFL.

Isaac Smith...just runs his guts out all day. May turn it over a bit, but just works, runs and generates. Mr consistency.
He’s the very definition of a receiver, which is fine when you have Danger, Selwood and Guthrie in the guts but not so good in a game like this. No tackles, soft in the contest, little value.

The match committee have to own the extent to which our back six has become a complete shambles this year. They've become way too cute with how they're using players, mostly due to how enamoured they are with a) the idea the versatility is inherent great and b) Sav "making it" as a KPD.

I get that Sav is improving and that he can only develop as a KPD through exposure to AFL situations, but at what cost? We had literally the best backline in the comp last year; why on earth would we voluntarily disrupt the cohesion that group had built by crowbarring an error-prone, positionally suspect chaos agent into the mix? And yes, I realise that at times this season Sav was a necessary selection due to the absence of SDK, but there's been many weeks when SDK was available in which we voluntarily chose to prioritise using Sav as a KPD instead of the guy who was literally the best young KPD in the entire comp last year? It's madness.

The irony is that if Sav wasn't showing signs of incremental development as a KPD, I actually think the MC would be making better selection decisions. They can see Sav is improving so they say to themselves, "SDK is versatile enough to play other positions, so why not use him as a ruck or a forward, that way we can fit both into the team", which seemingly makes sense, but in practice just means that we're pushing our best young player out of his favoured position to accommodate the development of a significantly weaker player.

There will be changes.
But Toby is a rare quality player that we always struggle with, plus GWS has a great record here≥
Wouldn't you put Bews on Greene? Maybe O'Connor? I said they have a streak of games at the ground? Wouldn't you start J Henry in the forwards as he kicked 2 last week, other than a 15th Century French Duke?

Sav is the least of our problems mate. He's been great this year and developing nicely. Just an easy target like Ceglar to pick on when things aren't going our way.

First part - no he hasn't

Second part - not sure we're actually seeing any development or improvements in the defensive side of his game

His game is based around competing in aerial contests, as the one-on-one defensive side of his game is lacking

He really needs time in the VFL to work on and develop that side of his game
