Think its interesting that a few weeks back Phillips, Rice, Austin, DMac, White, Lonie were all playing at Sandy and none of them were actually tearing it up. They've all been given a go mainly because of our extensive injury list.

I think it just goes to show that some players will lift when challenged and when they are surrounded by better players. Those guys were all part of our creditable effort against the Weagles in Perth last week, where many of us (me included) thought we'd get whipped.

My point is why not go whole hog and give Battle and Goddard a try to. I don't care what they look like at the moment playing for Sandy. Others have clearly proven that form wrong when given a chance so why not see what they've got to offer ? Shit, we're headed for the bottom of the ladder anyway, so what if it backfires. At least we'll know what they've got.

And you can throw Freezer into that mix too as soon as he's good to go.

Hi guys, can you please tell me if Sinclair is primarily playing midfield or forward?
He is 100% a wingman, but that didn't stop the coaches from playing him in the forward line for the first few weeks of the season.
Amazingly, his best games of the year have been when he plays wing for the whole game.

Yep, hope we have a no-fear, take-the-game-on-at-all-costs type mindset and just back ourselves.
Agree, I think if try to play a controlling precision game we'll be monstered. They have big bodies and can bully the kids. Run and gun and they will be way more reactive. They have buddy who's a freak but the rest are not overly skilled (like the Hawks with their precision kicking) just stronger, more experienced and know their game.

Disagree.
Never enough.
Disgraceful

Bring back the apathy and infighting.
The past three weeks have been especially gloomy and negative, and the team has improved.
Now there is optimism, our players remembered how to play football and we have a future to look forward to.
And it is the perfect time for our hopes to be crushed again.

We will be in this game for a long way and could even win it if everything falls our way.
The telling factor will be Kennedy , Power and Franklin.
Which means Steele , Dunstan have to get us first use of the ball at most stoppages , Hunter , Sinclair , Phillips , Ross and Steven to give us the fast spread we need to keep the forward line open for our forwards like Newnes , Billings , Gresham and Membery.
Our back line will have to blanket Papley and Buddy so hoping Austin , White , Rice can get the job done.

I'm hoping Coffield and Dunstan get picked

Noise of affirmation?

Will work for Sydney this week because they have a lot of support here, whereas the few members that actually pitch up to our games are usually deathly silent. It's our own fault.

We should lose this game by 10 goals if Sydney play well; their midfield is timely too classy for us and our defence is too inexperience. In Sydney’s last two losses they have still had more inside 50s then the opposition (Adelaide + North) which is a testament to how well those teams have defended. Even even their only other loss (Port rnd2) they drew the inside 50 count so it will be a massive test for our young defenders against such onslaughts.

Dunstan if fit should return; him and Steele and the other inside mids will need big contested games if we are to have any chance. I can see Lonie going out after too many crucial turnovers against West Coast but if Gresh is injured then he should help his spot. Coffield is the automatic replacement for Geary, hopefully we see him spend more time in the midfield at senior level.

Membrey will need a big day out again against his former team and hopefully Mav can have the same presence as last week. Not sure what too expect but if we take our chances early and get a sniff who knows what could happen.

This game was so frustrating last year, we were so sloppy in clearance and they seemed to hit one backwards handball from the stoppage which completely cut out our structure.

Hoping our good users can cut them up. No Brown, Gilbert, Geary in the backline for the first time in memory.

Likely it will be another defeat; Swans are a good side and have won their last four. Still, you just never know; perhaps that elusive Saints win is about to materialise. There have been encouraging signs in the past couple of games, so let's see if we can build on that. There's nothing to lose in a game like this; just have a real go against a strong team and see what happens. I will say Swans by 30-40, but with a sneaky hope Saints could spring a surprise. Just as long as it all doesn't fall apart again, so undoing the recent good work.
