Firstly, nice to get a win.....

I ask: Did we see anything different with ball movement? or was it the same....but we got lucky?

For mine, it was more Elliot having a career day and Tex having a Career worst day that "won" the day.
We didn't see anything different in terms of how we played.

We still cannot get it out of defence on slow play. As soon as its slowed down, we are toast !!
its just horrible to watch and very inevitable!!!

we refuse to take a risk and handball from half back. countless times we had the opportunity to handball and didn't.
would have it worked???? no idea. but its better than what we know....which is chip sideways and then cough it up 5 possessions later inside 50!!

But we learnt a bit...
- lynch is done. So no issues with finding out if he can make it. When the game was a on the line in the last, O'Brien took a great mark in defence and lynch was no where to be seen. I'm ok with getting done in the ruck. but that's work ethic.
- Madgen - as much as i think he has limited value.....that value is defence. so he's at best great depth in defence.
- Bianco. Can play. Left / right....doesn't seem to matter. but the thing that impressed me was work ethic. He did something i haven't seen anyone else do this season......he attempted a smother!!! OMFG!!!
- Sier. Done. About three times he was asked to defend and refused to. Had multiple chances to smother....threw a hand out and "that'll do"....no intensity at all.
- Degeoy....interesting.....had about 4 chances to tackle and take the body...but refused to and it cost us....but when he gets an opportunity, he doesn't waste
it. So annoying as a player! but watching martin, he does the same thing.....
- Cameron - dont let the last 1 min fool you. He's just rubbish. contest after contest he was horrible. When he was in the Ruck, we lost 5 centre clearances in a row. Makes me wonder if he just doesn't know where to run or what to do?
- Rantall - Done. Wont make it. to light on in frame and fumbles too much. You just cant fumble at AFL. being clean is 75% of the battle to 'make it'. good to know this now rather than later on!
- Poulter - again, can play!! great decision making. composed when needed (that goal).

- Elliot....just lol. so underrated. did nothing wrong and is "clean". thats the difference with him
- IQ - Well that's the worst game he's played!! so i take that as a positive as its very unlike him.

We defended really well, no better or worse than previous weeks.
But in reality, if Crows kick remotely straight, we lose......

so i ask again.....did we see anything different from the past few weeks?
For me, no.
We just had a jet up forward who kicked straight and got us over the line.

With a name like that you are asking for it but I will refrain.

That was a more attacking game but we still have a long way to go.

Ugly win? I’m ugly crying with happiness! First win in a while, don’t care how we got there.

Was super satisfied to see Bianco hit up our forwards with some careful kicking and Caleb bringing some terrier to his ball fetching and ball movement. One of the few to generate some run when needed.

Kudos to Darcy Moore for persistence (kicking finally settled down) for Darcy Cameron’s effort to appear when we needed it most and for Callum Brown to tackle like an angry kraken.

Bravo lads. It’s been too long without a big fat W

Your last sentence answered your own question, a genuine forward who knows when and how to lead, has good hands and is a great kick for goal.

Cracking into some butter chicken and tandoori cutlets after a gritty win, not too much better than this.

As a few others have mentioned, IQ's last quarter showed a lot of fortitude given the errors he made in the previous three.

Elliott and the younger brigade deserve the headlines, but I thought that Sidebottom was important today. Showed leadership at important moments, was in and under, and gave off some excellent release handballs.

I doubt that Callum Brown is unaware of his limitations as a footballer, but he doesn't give a f*** and will cough up his heart to help get his team over the line.

A somewhat better performance today. Hoskin played a better game he has string together some decent games over the month and being extremely poor.

Obviously Elliot and Crisp were the best by a long way.

Darcy was unusual done some good things but was quite poor by foot which is unusual.

Noted I honestly cannot stand Callum Brown and just don't rate him at all as a footballer however he probably played his best game for collingwood and he only played a half of footy. Cameron was horrendous bar that last minute.

De Goey was ok I guess shouldve kicked the one in the last though.

Defence we were not too bad but geez some brainfades nearly cost us as usual with Maynard on that last line and also Noble why when you're 10 points up in the last go into the middle to a 1 on 3.

All in all though a better performance just our first quarters we honestly look like a complete different side towards the next 3 quarters which is juts hard to understand.

So great to get another win, especially a close one like that.So sick of losing the close ones,so this makes a nice change,

And Jaimie Elliot, what can you say?A true star.Kicking six goals in his first game back after breaking his ankle is an enormous effort.I can’t help but think that we would have won a few more games if he had played the last two months.Certainly I think we would have beaten Port and the Lions if he had played in those games.Five and seven certainly sounds a lot better than three and nine.

What a very very poor summary. Disappointing.

What's wrong with it? We beat the 2nd bottom team in admittedly a gutsy win and had some particularly pleasing players and others who were disappointing. Jamie Elliott was the catalyst for the win while Tex, though fairly dominant, kicked inaccurately. I am as pleased as anyone to win but I am not going to get carried away with our success. Well done to the boys but let's keep the win in perspective.

Amazing what happens when you try and move the ball quicker and use the corridor. You get shots on goal that are also in the corridor instead of out wide.

That’s a total game plan change from the Geelong game. Let’s keep seeing more of it. Never the short back and sideways style ever again.

The difference a quality player like Elliott makes is so large. Playing like today along with Grundy, Adams and Howe back and we should win a few games.

Wow, you're writing off players who have played 2 to 3 games..

Absolutely! However, going by the Adelaide media they thought they had it the bag!

You'd be pretty devo losing to us after all the struggles we've been through. Obviously their kicking for goal in the 2nd was terrible and our performance in the 2nd was as bad as we've been, but our 1st Q was one of our best this season, and we worked back into the third and held our own in the last.

Lots of cats getting kicked in old Crowtown tonight!

5 pages in to the post match thread after a famous win and I haven't seen hide nor hair from any of our resident Debbie Downer posters. Why is that, I wonder?
Im sure they'll re-emerge tomorrow to bring us all down again.😐
Silly comment. Firstly, if you are always upbeat regardless of how horrendously we play , why is a win any more worthy of praise and acclamation?
The second point is, if we played like that every week, the Debbie Downers would be rare indeed.
The whole reason people are negative is because we don't see these kind of games often enough.
I praise our team when they deserve praise and criticise when they are poor.
Surely that's what any good parent, teacher or coach should do.
