Hoping for 'the best laid plans...............'

This week
Currie to Nicholls
Kommer to Hrovat

Next week
Crouch to Tom Mitchell
O'Meara to premium (liking Ryan Griffen)

Week after
Goodes to Ablett (finally)

'...........gang aft agley' part will probably happen though

Will be interesting to see if Hrovat can keep his spot this week. Cooney, Boyd, Dickson and Cross are all most likely coming back into the team.

Agreed. If named I'll be grabbing him for cash but I'm not sold on good JS (maybe 50/50 each round).

getting rid of wines finally for mitchell to free up some money for next week and have mitchell on my bench while i play crouch on the field, and rowe for nicholls to give me 311,500 to upgrade kerridge and omeara/hodge next week, still will have 19 on the field this week, things are looking up finally :D

Would be surprised to see all 4 named this week. Dickson has missed about 8 weeks and our reserves didn't play on the weekend just gone. Cross was replaced by Hrovat, who has done nothing wrong and adds something that we clearly lack in the middle. Boyd has already had two stints off for his calf, so would be wise to rest him for one more. Cooney is the logical inclusion of the 4, perhaps Koby Stevens will need another week with his quad injury.

I'm less worried about the Pies this week, I'd much prefer to thump Melbourne by 20 goals with a full strength side next week...

hat are your thoughts on Hrovat's JS? Most interested to hear from you and Dannnnnnnnnn as you guys are rarely wrong when it comes to Doggies info. I will most likely be bringing him in for Evans this week as he is the only decent downgrade that has had the bye.

Other trade will probably Kommer to Barlow. Can't really see any other premiums that have had the bye who tickle my fancy. Freo have a very good run for the rest of the season as well. Was thinking about Fyfe as well but the fact that he consistently gets tagged and gets injured too often sways me to Barlow

I'm just thinking bye strategy.

Evans -> Hrovat locked in.

Assuming Dwyer misses (and crouch plays), my thoughts are:

I can just let Dwyer sit on the bench and trade omeara, or I can trade Dwyer.

Trading Dwyer gives me 20 starting this week, and 20 in r13 (if everyone is named)

Trading omeara gives me 19 starting this week and 21 in r13 (if everyone is named)

I'm thinking option 2 is lower risk. I think there is a decent chance of 3 of players missing r13. Players like Hrovat, Thurlow don't have the best JS and there is always the chance of an injury this weekend.

I'd be happy to take 19 in this weekend and 18 play.

If I can take 20 in next weekend and there are 1-2 late outs I think I can get a big boost in the rankings, given that many have lots of r13 mids/defenders.

I think he'll be like Stringer, Macrae, JJ and a few other of our younger guys. It doesn't make sense to instantly drop them just because an older, slower, less skillful player is available. He has played well, moved the ball well through the middle, takes the game on. I think they will all get rests at times, as you can't play the kids for 10 - 15 games in a row, but I think we move the ball better with him and Macrae in the side, so I'd be keeping him in. I don't see why you'd not want the kids to learn from playing against the better sides in front of the larger crowds...

Our MC this year have made some howlers, but have also seemed to want people to earn there spots. People are having to play 2 - 3 good games to get promoted, then in most cases they are getting 2 -3 games to find their feet - provided they display effort. Hrovat has displayed more than just effort, he's been quite good...

We have Williams (season/career - delete as appropriate) and Stevens (quad) either out or under a cloud. I'd bring in Cooney and Markovic this week, or Cooney and Boyd and play Cooney out of the square periodically... We either match the Pies defensive structure with our forwards, or let's make them look slow and move the ball quickly. Either way, we need movement and skilled ball use - Hrovat has this...

I brought him in after his first game, as it suited my planned trades/cash generation plans. He might not get T Mitchell numbers (he's a few years younger), but he's only really starting on the field this week and next... I'll take 60 points from him this week, not a problem...

Now, watch him get dropped and not play again for the year... :p:oops::confused:

I've actually changed my trades.

Evans to Griff.
Blicavs to Nicholls.

20 on the field with 2 emergencies this week.

Next week - Lucas to Barlow/Delidio/Cotchin/???
Harbrow - Duffield/Birchall/Burgoyne.

19/20/21 on the field next week, depending on strategy...

What do people think of Ellis as an upgrade target? Will he be able to average 90+ for the rest of the season?

If you already have Gibbs, Heppell & Goddard I think he is a great option. I'd expect him to average 85+ for the rest of the year so he is still good value at his price but if you don't have the afforementioned 3 already I would consider getting them a priority (provided you have the cash and don't have too many players with the round 13 bye already).

changed my mind for the 5th time. Not sure Martin will hold his position or avoid the vest once Dwyer comes back into the Pies team. Therefore:
Evans ---> T.Mitchell
Kommer --> Barlow.

Will allow me to have 19 players on the field next week once i do 2 trades. Will chase Swan for round 14.

I like this faith in Griff, though he's not just a loyal choice by a Dogs fan is he, as I've (somewhat reluctantly) chosen him over Swan this week due to the bye issue.

I think I'd be going with:

JPK -> Barlow
McBean -> Nicholls

Leaving me with 148k to do this next week:

JOM -> Scooter
Scotland (can't wait to see him GTFO) -> Ibbotson/ Ellis

Cash would be tight for wk 13, friggin Scotland better not drop too much!

he's missed a few games this year, but when you look at averages, I think he's close to the top 10 or 12 players in the middle. Given he's only 480K-ish, I think he represents good value. On the back of 160-odd in Darwin, after a rest and with GWS and Melbourne * 2 to come in the second half...

That sucks I heard he played really well in his first 3 games. Ohh well...

My trades. OUTS: Omeara and Kerridge INS: mitchell and Martin

probably drop some wins but it Gives me 743k in the bank with 7 upgrades to go.

I might trade for Mitchell next week and get Barlow in this week. i'm just not sure Barlow is a premium just yet

Barlow? ? Ahh yeah he's a premium
Considering all the normal premiums are flunking it this season and in general averages are down, a guy averging 108 and 120+ in his last four is definitely a premium
Get on barlow this week and mitchell next, youve got 700k barlows b/e is 77 which he will smash and mitchell will be there next week

All i needed was a push!

Done and done!

Wow Barlow super popular this week.

Goodes>Hrovat
JOM>Barlow

464k in bank.

Next week:
Crouch>Jack/Swallow
Who the **** knows > Mitchell

I've got way too many guys who are potential keepers: Ball, Priddis, Caff, Ellis, Vlas, JJK

And then those under performing guys: Murphy, Birchall, Buddy, Hartlett (B7).

Good problem to have...?
