Hi guys, first time poster on this board. Bit of a supercoach rookie, my strategy this year was to gun for trades early, try to get cheap guys in and build from there. Obviously doesn't work when you pick guys like Grimes, Cotchin, Griffen...anyway, my predicament is that I have only 9 trades left and only $1.4k left so any upgrades would have to be double trades. I was about 500th before first bye round (my best ever) but have slipped every week since then, around 4000th now. Would like to maintain a 5k finish.

B: D.Swallow, Bartel, McVeigh, Burgoyne, Johnson, Langdon (Grimes, Bews)

M: Ablett, Beams, J.Selwood, Murph, SJ, Cotchin, Goddard, Griffen (L.Taylor, Salem)

R: Sandi, Lobbe (Derickx, King)

F: Dangerfield, Martin, Breust, Pav, Fasolo, Shenton (Ambrose, Cameron)

My thoughts would be to trade out Grimes, and also try to fix forwards, and hold stiff with underperforming mids in Cotch + Griffen? As I said, 9 trades left, so difficult to decide whether to stick fat with those trades or try to complete the puzzle.

edit: Langdon -> Jaensch (can just do that, is it worth it?)

cant say. but he certainly earned his spot on the weekend.
Stratton and Lake should be back soon which would leave him fighting for a spot with Cheney, Duryea and Suckling.
StevieDewar or BuddysBuddy23 may have a more informed opinion

for what its worth if he starts this week im going to roll the dice

His performance yesterday was great, but I suspect he is still down the list of our preferred defenders. I'm guessing he'll get a gig for at least the next couple of weeks, so he may have a chance to cement a spot, but upon return of Lake, Gibson, and Stratton I think he'll be back at BHH.

In SC terms he may make you some quick cash over 3-4 weeks though

Will hold onto Higgins/Suckling for 1 more week at least.
Have 150k in the bank, looking to go:
Lloyd > Franklin
Sandi > Nic Nat

Thoughts? Is it worth going Lloyd > Cloke, he's only 366k? Which ruck should I trade to get Nic Nat, is Sandi the right choice?

NO he is not
Taylor down or Acres to Obrien.
Sandi is the number one ruckmen in the league and you want to trade him out

id do the langdon trade to jaensch, and stick with griff and cotchin as well

maybe fasolo to parker up fwd

I am content on L.Taylor > B.Harvey... but not sure which one to go here:

Lloyd > Walker $338k
or
Lloyd > Buddy $443k

Which would you rather?

I'd go the Buddy option but alot may prefer Tex due to his cheaper price. Depends how the 105k saved will be spent i guess

Probably no trades at this stage. Depends on selected sides of course. Hope Jacobs comes up, no premos are rested, Cutler and Lloyd come back into their respective sides and Derickx holds his spot too. Every player on field is a premo keeper and each bench player still has money to make. Looking at a Swan-SJ in a couple of weeks if Swan doesn't show something soon(If he is back this week). Pav-Gray will happen at some stage too

I'm leaning towards Walker as you mentioned because of the price - I've also not ever see him move as well as he did on Saturday in only his 3rd game back from the knee reco.

On the other hand, Buddy is back, he looks fit, and the Swans are going to dominate a lot of teams...

Hmm :S

Buddy's probably the safer option if that's what you want. Especially with Tippett back and the Swans up and about. Tex will have his 50-60 games(so can Buddy, as evidenced this year already twice) and doesn't seem to have those monster scores Buddy can put up every now and then. The 105k saved is very handy though if the two aren't going to be too far apart avg wise from here out.

Me too. It helps that I have Webster rotting on the bench at the moment. Leaves me a bit thin for backups with Bews and Litherland, but I think everyone will find themselves in a similar position in the next few weeks. Really, Langdon has been the only blue chip cash cow and he's got to the 'D6 for the rest of the year, or cash out now' stage. Not a 'solid, unspectacular 50-60 points a week and guaranteed spot in the 22' reserve to be seen, so I'm not sure what people will do for the remainder of the year with D7/D8. I think Bews is looking solid in his spot, JS-wise, but <45 points looks to be his standard, which is a fair bit short of ideal.

Though, for what it's worth, I'll probably keep Langdon now and cop a bit of a hit financially for over the next few weeks, then trade him out for Mitchell when he returns to complete the back six.

14 trades and 76k sorry cant print team on this silly slaptop.
Simpson..Bartel..swallow..Jaensch..Enright...Langdon(Clay/bews).
Gaz..beams..Selwood..SJ..watson..Murphy..Hallahan..(Billy/Lewis).
Sandi..Jamar.
Gray..Danger..Dusty..Bruest..Pav..Faz..(ammo/Lloyd).
Was looking at Lewis and Hallahan > Goddard and windsceens will lose dpp link and dont like my mid emg > sub and js risks.

I'm keeping Lang too with Maxwell smarty pants out helps Lang scoring a bit I don't think he will drop to much hope not anyway.

Yeah with Maxwell out and Faz kicking goals forward I think Langdon's scoring will benefit. He may drop in price this week but I'd be happy with 80, and with that 53 out of his rolling average he'll then go back up a bit.

Got 3 options. Mids are set for now.

Defense
Langdon & Langford to ?
* Have : HIBBERD, SWALLOW, MCVEIGH, SIMPSON, BIRCHALL, Tippett for loophole

Rucks
Hampson & Derickx to ?
* Waiting on a downgrade to show up. Really need a decent ruck 2 asap though.

Forwards
Darling to ?
* Have : DANGERFIELD, MARTIN, ZORKO, PARKER, GUNSTON, Ambrose, Cameron.

Stumped, might just go Hampson & Derickx to Minson & rookie r/f and deal with a ruckman missing a game when it happens. Then sort D6/F6 over the next 2 weeks.

which two do we like

Langford > Bartel and keep Tyson in M8 for another round

or

Tyson > Rockliff/Libba/Selwood/Boyd and all others below
Langford > Jeansch (assuming Jeansch is worth a sideways swap)
