For all those people melting because a Banks debut video hasn't come out yet, calm down. It still may happen.

Firstly, it is only a squad at this stage so they haven't had final match committee and they won't until tomorrow.

Secondly if they have told him ahead of time that he is playing, the video may well have been recorded and they are waiting until tomorrow to release it when they announce the final team.

Thirdly, I hope he does debut otherwise I'll be leading the charge with the melts
One eyed is like ....

Firstly, everyone calm the **** down

Secondly, now everyone stay bloody calm ........

Because, thirdly,

So true, I can hardly remember the last time either a forward led or anyone hit them
Maybe they should really simplify it for the players. Shouldn’t need to but (a) if we’re playing Melbourne kick it anywhere other than where May and Lever are. (b) if we’re playing Port, kick it anywhere other than where Aliir is (c) if we’re playing Hawthorn kick it anywhere other than where Sicily is etc etc etc.

Further: if the great interceptors are on or near Jack, don’t kick it to ****ing Jack

Agree with all that! Also, let’s stop kicking it to three-on-one outnumbers.

Good squad but the final squad remains in limbo. If we follow our normal form the last three interchanges will be omitted although I would be giving one of Jack, Cotch or Prestia an extended rest. Good to see the selectors waving the carrot at our VFL boys.
Dion Prestia v Port last week - 29 disposals, 12 kicks, 17 handballs, 2 tackles, 10 contested possessions. 47% of his disposals in the defensive half, 53 offensive. Did you even watch last weeks game?

Thanks for those stats but my reason for suggesting the extended rest was to make use of the bye and ensure we enter the season after the bye with a fit senior list able to support the expected infusion of youth and then hopefully enter next season with a winners confidence

Same old s**t.
‘I’m ok with Cumberland in but geez the season is gone, try biggie and banks.
banks has been emergency for weeks and will be again because they would have done a feel good video if he was debuting.
Yep.Time to give Biggie a go.We need to findout by the end of the year in regards too him.

Mini not giving anything away here. Dimma used to tell us early if someone was going to debut, Mini might do things differently but im not holding my breath for a Banks debut.

Ok so we ain’t resting Reiwoldt until the bye.

it’s like continually running an old champion stayer that needed the paddock 4 runs ago.

Surely the evidence is there that he’s hit the wall, regardless of who we have to replace him, he needs a rest. 2 games ago Dimma said he’s playing sore
Exactly. Perhaps he is a little unqualified to alter something that Dimma has done for so long, back his system and his players. Problem is, it isn't working and he has not all that long to make a stamp of his own. Perfect week to bring in some key changes and new personnel.

5 Things I learnt from McQualter press Conference

1. We are suddenly so irrelevant that Journo's were a no show

2. Cumberland's Mum asked all the questions in their place.

3. McQualter known as Mini because he really is Hardwick's Mini-Me

4. After letting go of Caracella, Leppitsch, McCrae, Kingsley and any other assistant with his own voice .... the coaching department are going need some help looking at the back of the cupboard to find some new ideas at Tigerland.

That's right Mini, I am sure I put them right at the back lol

5. Cumbo's Mum has a thing for Taranto

The biggest difference is cumbo has proven he can average 2 goals a game and make his opponent accountable...

You see, this is the problem. Cumbo’s supporters keep saying this stuff and ignore the fact that the Dees campaigner that switched on to him after Q1 basically dominated the game from the back pocket, intercepted easily, provided an exit option for them which generated entries and scores.
Because Cumbo didn’t/couldn’t/wouldn’t perform his role.
He’ll get back but please cut this narrative out.

That might be so, but that was 5 games ago, 2 weeks before that he had 21 disposals.

Nobody was surprised he was dropped but besides a few sub games he hasn't really played seniors for about 5 weeks.

Last weeks bye did him no favour but our forward line is pretty average right now. Ryan has barely touched it in weeks up forward, even Jack had only 4 disposals 5 weeks ago, 5 least week and has kicked 3 goals in those 5 weeks. It's not always easy playing forward, especially when the coach and co. put the pressure on you.

So it's not really cutting the narrative, cutting the narrative is using 3/4 of a game as rationale.

Are we trying to win games or save games?
Because we have a guy in Cumberland, that besides Martin and Bolton is our most likely player to kick multiple goals , and he can’t even make the 23.
Forget about the odd poor performance, the best small/ medium forwards in the competition have them all the time, it comes with the position/role.

point 1, it's easier to defend than attack. easier to read the play.
point 2, Cumbo is a developing player and learning the ropes with only a handful of games played.
point 3, we have players on 10 times his pay play worse.
point 4, hand-picking your examples doesn't make it right with people who can see through them.

But he kicked 2 goals a game last year.....

But he kicked 3 goals in a quarter this year.....

Week after week it's the same thing, why isn't Cumberland being played? Week after week it's explained that he isn't being picked because he lacks defensive accountability, not just for his opponent, but also for the defensive structure we use after the opposition get the ball back in our F50. Week after week that is seemingly ignored and the response is, but he can kick goals and it doesn't matter about the defensive stuff he doesn't do.

Now the last 2 games he has played in the VFL and while he has hit the scoreboard both himself and aiding teammates to do so, the reports have been that he hasn't quite been at the level that the coaches are happy with defensively. So they seemingly want him to continue working on it, however they're showing him that he's getting better at what they want to see by including him in the squad. They seem to be using the carrot and the stick approach with him, dangling that reward in front of him, but not making it easy for him to get it.

I've said time and again, that Cumberland is one of the most talented kids on our list, but he needs to be pushed hard to get him to reach his potential and it's up to him if he does the work required. He may get a shot this week to prove that he has adapted his game to become more defensively accountable, because when he does buy in to that we get games like the Dogs game where he had 21 disposals, 7 marks, 6 tackles, 1.2, 2 goal assists & 10 score involvements. When he doesn't we get games like the Suns game, where he did nothing after a couple of shots in the first quarter and the Eagles game, where he had 2 disposals before eventually being subbed out just after half time.

Agree with all that! Also, let’s stop kicking it to three-on-one outnumbers.
I see a lot of players just ball watch with kicks inside 50, like they’ve been told not to get in Jacks road. Problem it it makes it easy for oppo players to come in and take relatively easy marks.
